Here is a follow up post for my post about the After Hours parties at WDW!
I wanted to take some time and talk about whether or not those nights are 'disability friendly' and if the DAS pass is able to be utilized.
The short answer?
YES and YES!
The DAS pass can be used on any ride that is operating during the After Hours Party.
How It Works During After Hours:
-You need to be inside the park with a valid After Hours ticket to use DAS during that event.
-Use your My Disney Experience app to select return times as usual for eligible attractions that are available and have a standby/wait time.
-If an attraction has no wait or isn’t operating during After Hours, you won’t be able to schedule a DAS return time for it — but often waits are still long enough to make DAS a valuable asset, even with smaller crowds.
What You CANNOT Use DAS For During After Hours:
DAS isn’t usable for things that don’t offer both a standby line and return time option — like fireworks, parades, shows, or experiences that aren’t part of the standard queue system.
Here are some tips and tricks from a special needs Mom that will really get you the most utilization of your time and money, and will help with way less stress! Less stress means less meltdowns!
Use the Front End of the Night for Walk-Ons
*The first 60–90 minutes of After Hours are usually shockingly low wait.
---Do these WITHOUT using DAS:
• Smaller attractions
• Rides that usually drop to 5–15 minutes
• Anything your group enjoys but doesn’t normally justify a DAS slot
***This saves DAS for the rides that still hold waits later.
**** Save DAS for the “Sticky Wait” Rides
Even during After Hours, some attractions never truly become walk-ons.
Best DAS Targets (by park):
Magic Kingdom
• Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
• Peter Pan’s Flight
• TRON (if standby is offered for the event)
• Jungle Cruise (holiday versions especially)
Hollywood Studios
• Rise of the Resistance
• Slinky Dog Dash
• Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
EPCOT
• Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
• Frozen Ever After
****These are ideal to DAS after the initial rush settles.
DAS Works Best Mid-Event, Not Right at Start
Because waits are already low early, DAS return times can be immediate or unnecessary.
Sweet spot:
About 1–2 hours into After Hours, when:
• Crowds redistribute
• Some guests leave early
• Lines stabilize (instead of dropping to zero)
That’s when DAS return times become most valuable.
⸻
4. One DAS at a Time — So Stack Smartly
You can only hold one DAS return time at a time, but you can:
• Ride walk-ons while waiting for your DAS window
• Grab your next DAS immediately after tapping in to the current one
This keeps your group moving without overstimulation or long idle waits.
⸻
5. Snacks + Seating = Sensory Reset
After Hours includes included snacks and drinks, which is huge for DAS users.
Use snack locations as:
• Decompression breaks
• Hydration resets
• Quiet regroup moments
This helps avoid the “push too far, crash later” problem.
⸻
6. If a Ride Has No Posted Wait — DAS Won’t Trigger
Important nuance:
• If a ride drops to no posted standby wait, DAS won’t offer a return time
• In that case, just walk on — that’s a win
This happens more often late at night.
Hope this helps!!!!!!!
