Last month's progress.
Most of the team was working last week getting some major accomplishments achieved. Andre working on the bridges. David working on the barge and painting a locomotive for a customer. Fabian working on installing all the railroad ties and getting it ready for painting the rail. John worked on finishing the hills and river for the coal mine and company housing area. We all worked on different projects.

Well Andre went out this last week and started some of the rough scenery. Good news the backordered turnout's came in also, so we can finish the trackwork.

It was a slow week. Someone in the building we rent from was reported with Covid-19. Fortunately we are very rarely there at the same time as others. So we heard of it before we returned after our weekends work. So we were not exposed. Building closed 5-7 days.
We did get a lot of trackwork done. I started dropping feeder wire for electric to track, yet to be soldered. Half of the switch machines are ready to be installed.

Modifying the bench work for a scenery project already. Which will include Two bridges in a gorge between two different tunnels.

Well we thought we would share the overall track and layout design. I thought we could also show the step by step of preparing the water barge scene. It takes a lot of steps. Cutting out the foam for the water, laying a base for the water, putting in the grade for the track approach, and then laying the track to make things level for loading the barge. Yes this took a lot of hours. Some of us were working on other things that we will be showing in the next episode. Have a great week and enjoy life.

We are all done with the track line layout. We have now finished the cork roadbed. Layed 1/3 of the track, but we are still back ordered on the code 55 right hand turnouts, (It's now starting to get a little annoying after 8 weeks). We are getting ready to cut in the water areas for the grain silos and lake freighter, and Railroad barge and tug boat.

We finished the foam base. Cutting for all the elevations. Laying out the track plan. Getting all the cork roadbed in place. Having our company inspector Chessie (a Blue & Gold Macaw) keep an eye on Golden Spikes quality.

These are some pictures from our January post and rough build. It was delivered just before the stay at home order. He and his wife have done some great work, he has been working a lot and on the buildings starting on the scenery now. I got the opportunity to see this layout not to long ago when I was in his area (yes I had a mask on). Please enjoy this update.
Sorry about the delay as the Pandemic has slowed business a little. With the economy being an issue for people they are unsure of starting projects.
