59 years ago today February 8-1967 I stepped off a 747 into a whole new world just 19 years old not knowing what might happen in a country I had never heard of , not fully aware of what they were fighting about, communism you didn’t hear much about it out on the oyster bar you was too busy trying to make a living. 5 of us left the same day John Ganius of Port st Joe who was Kia not long after we got there, Shorty Dasher, Alvin Martina, Pete Adams and myself we all made it home but sometimes are still there in the dreams and flashbacks I know I would never have made it home without Devine intervention a God I was not even serving at that time kept me in the palm of his hand, my mother and my grandmother Ola Turner and the congregation of The first Pentecostal holiness church in 1967 praying for us Sis Iris Allen would tell me later in life Charles I prayed for you like you were my own. God is faithful!!
