Must Do Monday: How to Book the Best Flights at the Best Price ✈️

Happy Monday, travelers! This week’s tip is all about flight booking — because a few smart habits can possibly save you hundreds of dollars on your next trip.

✈️Let Google Flights Do the Watching for You
Stop refreshing the page through the day. Google Flights has a “Track prices” toggle on every search — turn it on and Google emails you when the fare moves.
•Track “Specific dates” if your travel dates are locked in.
•Track “Any dates” if you’re flexible — you’ll get notified when the cheapest dates in a range drop significantly.
•Set the alert the day a trip becomes possible, even months out, then let it work in the background.
Google Flights also shows a small note on many routes telling you if the current price is low, typical, or high for that route historically. Treat it as a helpful compass, not a guarantee — it’s based on history, not next month’s demand spikes.

🚫💻 Never Check Pricing on the Same Device Twice
This one trips up a lot of travelers. Some booking sites and airlines use dynamic pricing and browser tracking — if you search the same route repeatedly on the same device/browser, you may see prices creep up (whether it’s true price-matching to demand or just cookie-based nudging, the effect is the same).
To avoid it:
•Search in an incognito/private browsing window each time.
•Clear cookies between searches, or use a different browser.
•Better yet, let price tracking (see tip #1) do the repeat-checking for you, so you’re not manually re-searching at all.

⏰Timing Matters
•Domestic flights: book roughly 1–3 months out for the best sweet spot.
•International flights: aim for about 2–8 months before departure — international fares take longer to stabilize.
•Holiday travel (Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year): book earlier — 3–5 months out domestically, 4–10 months out internationally, since these dates behave differently and rise sooner.
•Flying on the actual holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day) is often cheaper than the days around it.

😊Be Flexible
•Early morning or late-night flights are frequently cheaper than mid-day departures.
•Add nearby/alternate airports to your search — sometimes a short drive saves a lot of money.

✔️A Few More Pro Tips
•Book directly when possible once you’ve found your fare, especially if the airline offers a price-drop credit — some will refund the difference if the fare drops after you buy.
•Mix cash with points/miles during peak pricing windows if you have a rewards balance.
•Act fast on alerts — many flash deals disappear within 24 hours of a price drop.
•Don’t obsess over “best day of the week to book” — there’s no reliable magic day. Consistent tracking beats trying to time it perfectly.

D23 News: So Much Disney Excitement! ✨🏰

I was on-site at Walt Disney World last week and have finally had time read more about the updates and news from D23! There is a LOT to catch up on, so here’s the quick version of what you need to know! 👇

🏰 Walt Disney World

🕰️ Carousel of Progress — Set to reopen in late spring 2027, giving us the first confirmed timeframe for a major project.

🏎️ Piston Peak National Park — I’m so excited about this! Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland is getting a Cars-themed land in the former Rivers of America area! It will feature Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along. No opening date just yet.

😈 Villains Land — Still happening! Disney confirmed the official name and two major attractions. Timeline TBA.

💜 Journey Into Imagination with Figment — EPCOT’s beloved attraction is getting a reimagining, AND Dreamfinder is officially returning! 🎉

🌐 Spaceship Earth — A new storyline focused on human connection is coming. Timeline TBD.

🌴 Tropical Americas — Animal Kingdom’s new land remains on track for 2027, with new names and story details revealed for all three attractions.

🏔️ Expedition Everest — Disney says the famous Yeti animatronic will get a refurb! No timeline has been announced.

👹 Monstropolis — Hollywood Studios’ Monsters, Inc. area will begin rolling out in phases starting in 2027. The suspended coaster is coming later, along with more details about Harryhausen’s restaurant and new Randy Newman music.

🌴 Hopping on over to California…

🚀 Tomorrowland at Disneyland is getting a reimagining.

🎆 Remember… Dreams Come True fireworks return in February 2027 as part of the new Calling All Dreamers celebration.

✨ Magic Happens parade is also returning in February 2027!

🎶 More details are coming for Disney California Adventure’s Coco attraction.

🦸 Avengers Campus expansion is now targeting 2028.

🌊 The Avatar project at Disney California Adventure is still happening, although it has been pushed further into the future.

🌈 A refreshed version of the original World of Color will also return in February 2027.

And remember — some of these projects have firm dates, some only have general timeframes, and others are still firmly in the “stay tuned” category. 😉

But one thing is certain: Disney has A LOT coming over the next few years! ✨

Disney Cruise Line has released its Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries, and there is SO much to be excited about!

Here are a few highlights:

🗽 Return to New York City – For the first time since 2023, Disney Cruise Line is sailing from NYC! The Disney Wish will offer 4- to 7-night voyages to Bermuda, New England, and Canada’s Atlantic coast — think stunning fall foliage paired with those iconic red funnels.
🌴 More San Juan, Puerto Rico Sailings – Both the Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy will sail from San Juan on 5- to 7-night Southern and Eastern Caribbean itineraries, with stops in Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire, Dominica, and more.
🚢 Panama Canal Crossings – The Disney Magic will make two special 14-night repositioning cruises through the Panama Canal, including maiden calls to Fuerte Amador (Panama City) and Colón, Panama.
☀️ New Port Canaveral Homeport – The Disney Destiny will home port at Port Canaveral for the first time, joining the Wish (when it returns to Port Canaveral) and Treasure for 3- to 7-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
🌊 West Coast Fun – The Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will sail from San Diego on 3- to 7-night Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises, with the Wonder continuing the season with stops in Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, and Catalina Island.
🎃 Bahamian Favorites – The Disney Dream will offer Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime sailings, while the Disney Fantasy adds Eastern Caribbean cruises and special Bermuda itineraries in spring 2028.

📅 Booking Windows:
Castaway Club members can begin booking August 31–September 3, with exact dates depending on your Club status (Pearl, Gold, Silver, etc.).
General public booking opens September 8.
