HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME OFF IN 2026

You deserve those vacations!! Here are the best ways to make sure you have the most vacation days possible.
Good luck, and happy travelling!

To maximize your time off in 2026, consider the following tips:
Plan around federal holidays: Use these days to extend your vacations or save your paid time off (PTO) for longer trips. For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday, consider taking the Friday before or following Tuesday off to enjoy a longer getaway.

Combine public holidays with PTO: By adding one or two PTO days to a holiday, you can turn a short weekend into a longer vacation. For instance, if a holiday falls on a Monday, taking the Friday before or following Tuesday off can extend your vacation.

Utilize bridging days: Combine public holidays with your PTO to create extended breaks. For example, if a holiday falls on a Monday, taking the Friday before or following Tuesday off can extend your vacation.

Book red-eye flights: Fly overnight to arrive early at your destination without losing a day to travel. This is especially beneficial for travel from the West Coast to the East Coast or from the East Coast to Europe.

By following these strategies, you can make the most of your time off in 2026 and enjoy a more fulfilling holiday experience.

To enhance your travel experience, consider these top travel tips: plan ahead, pack light, stay flexible, and immerse yourself in local culture.

Essential Travel Tips

Plan Ahead: Booking your travel arrangements at least six weeks in advance can help you secure better deals on flights and accommodations. Consider traveling during the off-season or shoulder season to avoid crowds and save money.

Pack Light: Use a small backpack or suitcase to limit what you bring. This encourages you to pack only essentials, making your travels easier and more manageable. A lightweight, quick-drying towel is also a must-have for various situations.

Stay Flexible: Travel can be unpredictable. Embrace changes and unexpected events, such as missed buses or changes in plans. Keeping a positive attitude can enhance your travel experience.

Immerse Yourself in Local Culture: Learn a few phrases in the local language, try local foods, and engage with residents. This not only enriches your experience but also helps you connect with the places you visit.

Use Packing Cubes: These can help you stay organized and make it easier to find items in your luggage. They also encourage you to pack efficiently.

Travel Insurance: Consider purchasing travel insurance, especially for international trips. This can protect you from unexpected events like cancellations or medical emergencies.

Stay Safe: Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings. Consider using a money belt and avoid displaying expensive items.

Document Your Journey: Keep a travel journal to record your experiences, thoughts, and memories. This can be a great way to reflect on your travels later.

By following these tips, you can make the most of your travel experiences, ensuring they are enjoyable, safe, and memorable. Happy travels!

Going to Oahu? Here are some must-do/see attractions!

Oahu is filled with stunning landscapes, rich culture, and exciting activities; must-see places include Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, and the North Shore.

Top Attractions and Experiences

Pearl Harbor National Memorial: A significant historical site, this memorial commemorates the events of World War II and includes several museums and memorials, such as the USS Arizona Memorial. It's a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

Waikiki Beach: Famous for its golden sands and surf culture, Waikiki Beach is a vibrant area with plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities. It's perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and trying out surfing.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve: This protected marine area is renowned for its snorkeling opportunities. Visitors can explore the vibrant underwater ecosystem, making it a great spot for marine life enthusiasts.

North Shore: Known for its legendary surf breaks, the North Shore is a must-see for beach lovers. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere, visit famous beaches like Waimea Bay, and indulge in local food from shrimp trucks.

Diamond Head State Monument: Hike to the summit of this iconic volcanic crater for breathtaking views of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean. The trail is moderately challenging but well worth the effort. Watch out for the waves at the Diamond Head beaches. They can be really strong!

Polynesian Cultural Center: Experience the diverse cultures of the Pacific Islands through interactive exhibits, traditional crafts, and a spectacular evening show featuring fire dancing. This is a unique cultural experience that shouldn't be missed. We paid extra for the VIP tour. It was sooo worth it!

Lanikai Beach: Often regarded as one of the best beaches in the world, Lanikai Beach is famous for its clear waters and stunning views of the Mokulua Islands. It's an ideal spot for swimming and kayaking.

Blow Hole. You can see the view from the viewing spot, but you can also take an easy hike down to see it up close and personal. There is also a fabulous alcove to swim and cliff dive! You may also see a sea turtle - I have seen one several times while there.

Iolani Palace: The only royal palace in the United States, Iolani Palace offers a glimpse into Hawaii's royal history. Guided tours provide insights into the lives of Hawaii's last monarchs.

Kualoa Ranch: A popular destination for outdoor activities, Kualoa Ranch offers tours of its stunning landscapes, which have been featured in numerous films. Activities include ATV rides, horseback riding, and zip-lining.

Hiking Trails: Oahu is home to numerous hiking trails, including the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail and the Manoa Falls Trail, both offering beautiful scenery and a chance to experience the island's natural beauty.

These attractions showcase the diverse experiences Oahu has to offer, from historical sites to breathtaking natural landscapes, making it a perfect destination for any traveler.
