Our travel year started out with several months in the warmth of Arizona before making an early spring sprint up to Oregon. We spent a month in Bend kicking around the idea of staying for a year. We couldn't find what we wanted and so rolled on to enjoy another month long stay in Joseph, OR. From there we bounced around the region with stops in WA, ID and MT most of the time with either extreme heat, smoke from forest fires or both.
By fall we were back to looking for somewhere that we could stay for a longer period and ended up finding a house to rent in western North Carolina. At that point we were still in Oregon so we had a bit of travel in front of us. We plotted a route south that would allow us to enjoy some hiking and mounain biking time on the way. Stopped in AZ for a while to hang with friends and then a dash to TX for more time with friends. We officially finished up our travel Thanksgiving week with one final sprint to NC.
We're still working on settling in and getting ready to look around the area to see if we can find the spot we want to be a permanent base camp for us. So, it's as yet to be determined for sure but this last yearly map might just mark Horton's last hurrah at least with us at the wheel. Time will tell, should be a notable year for us.
