Someone should take a photo and post it in the comments below so we can see what the gulch looks like today vs five years ago, when I recorded this vid. I was standing in the middle of the Peters St bridge facing north.

Here's a link to the article I referenced in this video: https://www.atlsherpa.com/p/ring-of-fire. In that article, you will find the cream-colored map I was...

Where we are today versus where we will be tomorrow?

I asked ChatGPT to generate two images. One conveys my thoughts about where we are right now. Many people use the metaphor of a baseball game to describe where we are in the AI revolution. They say things like we're only in the first inning, or we're in the third inning. My perception is that we're still in the parking lot grilling kielbasa. The sound of backhoes that we're hearing is the stadium being built. In other words I don't think the game has even begun yet. I also don't think we're going to a baseball game. I think we're going to another kind of game. It's a game that hasn't been invented yet but I don't think it's going to have innings. In fact, I don't think it has an ending.

The second image conveys my concept of what I'm calling ambient or omnipresent AI. This is where I think we're going. Initially, it will likely come in the form of Alexa-like speakers or Meta-like glasses. I think it's going to be a wearable at some point. The folks at OpenAI are saying that it might not have a screen, which is interesting. We should start seeing some new form factors by the end of this year.

The bottom line >>> The world as we know it is about to be transformed in a profound way. As I said in my latest podcast, I believe that the scale of the impact and the rate at which it is unfolding is far greater and faster than most people realize at this moment in time.

This is the time to lean in. To get up to speed. To engage. To explore the possibilities. To embrace this technology.

NVDA = 5X in three years...

Three years ago, almost to the day, I published my “Copernicus Moment” podcast. At that time, the market cap of Nvidia was approaching $1 trillion. This week, NVDA’s market cap hit $5 trillion. That’s a 5X increase in just three years.

Compared to three years ago, A LOT more people know what AI is and are using tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc. on a daily basis. That said, it feels to me as if the VAST majority of people are only scratching the surface when it comes to AI.

I also think it’s safe to say that a significant portion of our population still does not grasp the power of AI and the PROFOUND transformation that will take place over the next few years. I’m talking about personal life, professional life, the public and private sectors, and society itself.

At its core, AI is about the DEMOCRATIZATION of KNOWLEDGE.

You have to spend some time with that concept to fully grasp the implications for humankind. That’s why I called it a “Copernicus Moment.”

Three years ago, I did not know 99% of what I know today about AI. All I knew was that something profound was about to happen.

You know what tipped me off?

It was my very first query with ChatGPT.

I don’t even remember what I asked the chatbot, but it was the RESPONSE I received that made me realize we were on the cusp of something transformational.

Specifically, it was the QUALITY of the response. The grammar. The clarity. The word choice. If you read my comments at that time, you may recall that I described the writing as "pristine."

When I read that first response, I immediately thought of my mom and my tenth-grade English teacher, Ms. Huntzinger. Both women instilled in me a sense of pride when it comes to communicating.

Their words of encouragement echoed in my mind:

“Be concise. Be clear. Be articulate. In every word that comes out of your mouth and the end of your pen.”

That first response from ChatGPT embodied all of those characteristics.

That’s how I knew this was big.

Well, this is MUCH bigger than I imagined three years ago, and the parameters of that potential are expanding at an astonishing rate.

To me, it feels like having a rocket strapped to my derriere. 🚀

Some people may find it disconcerting. I find it thrilling.

Today, ChatGPT rolled out a new feature that is going to scare the Bejesus out of some people. Others, like me, will say, “Praise the Lord,” because the chatbot now has the ability to remember and cross-reference past conversations.

Unless you are a power user of ChatGPT, that may not mean much to you. Believe me, this is a BIG DEAL. It represents an entirely new level of utility.

The article below is about Nvidia and how its founder, Jensen Huang, has put his money where his mouth is.

I featured Mr. Huang in my “Copernicus Moment” and subsequent episodes of my ATLSherpa podcast back in 2023.

I really hope you bought some NVDA stock. But if you missed it, I still believe this company has A LOT of runway ahead of it.

Even if you have already embraced AI, I encourage you to push the boundaries of whichever platform you are using.

We are about to witness incredible breakthroughs in generative AI and especially agentic AI.

Embrace this technology.

Run toward it, not away from it.

Put this into the context of the Renaissance or the Industrial Revolution. It’s that big. It’s that important.

The transformation will be PROFOUND.

Lead the way. For yourself, your family, your friends, and your co-workers.

Nvidia is pouring billions of dollars at a time into companies across the AI infrastructure stack, while also signing commercial deals with them.

"We are entering a period that will be defined as the acendance of the blue collar worker and stress for the white collar worker."

He is referring to the impact of AI on the workforce. Specifically, he is predicting that white collar workers --- cohort we referred to as "knowledge workers" back in the 1990s --- will suffer a disproportionate share of job losses vis a vis blue collar workers.

If he's right, and the tea leaves seem to be corroborating his thesis, this could have some important implications.

Hint: Consider the supply and demand effects up and down the labor market (income scale).

👉👉👉 One could arguue that large cities that attract a lot of young knowledge workers will be in the crosshairs.

Apollo CEO Marc Rowan warned that markets face an elevated risk of unexpected shocks, saying he is positioning the firm defensively for an expected correction.

CHA keeps getting better and better. This is near the base of Lookout Mtn, about 10 minutes south of Downtown CHA and less than 2 hours from Downtown ATL. Really impressed with this city. Like, AVL, it punches above its weight class in many respects.

Check out the morning light in this video...

If you can get to one of these shows do it. Saw these guys in CHA a couple of months ago. They are fantastic! Midwestern blues rock, super chill. Excellent musicians.

I'm planning to see them again in Nashville on 6/28. Otherwise, I would head down to see them in L5P on 6/18.

Other than in ATL, folks don't usually get so excited about freight trains but this is pretty cool...

Nestled in the rugged terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Old Fort Loops stand as one of the most remarkable feats of railroad engineering in the southeastern United States. Originally constructed in the late 19th century, these winding tracks were designed to navigate steep elevation changes with precision and ingenuity. For generations, they have served as a crucial transportation link, carrying goods and fueling economic growth throughout the region.

Their restoration preserves both a historic landmark and an essential artery of commerce.
