I’ve been hearing of this scam for a little while now and wanted to share… please be aware!

A scam we are seeing shared by many departments, so for our traveling friends, better safe than sorry.

**You arrive at your hotel and check in at the front desk. Typically when checking in, you give the front desk your credit card (for any charges to your room).

You go to your room and settle in. All is good.

The hotel receives a call and the caller asks for (as an example) room 620 - which happens to be your room.

The phone rings in your room. You answer and the person on the other end says the following: 'This is the front desk. When checking in, we came across a problem with your charge card information. Please re-read me your credit card number and verify the last 3 digits numbers at the reverse side of your charge card.'

Not thinking anything wrong, since the call seems to come from the front desk you oblige.
But actually, it is a scam by someone calling from outside the hotel.
They have asked for a random room number, then ask you for your credit card and address information.
They sound so professional, that you think you are talking to the front desk.

If you ever encounter this scenario on your travels, tell the caller that you will be down to the front desk to clear up any problems. Then, go to the front desk or call directly and ask if there was a problem.
If there was none, inform the manager of the hotel that someone tried to scam you of your credit card information, acting like a front desk employee.

ANYONE travelling should be aware of this one!

📍Meteora, Greece 🗺
Hands down one of the most unique places I’ve ever visited! As an UNESCO World Heritage site, there’s so much history and charm to this area that I literally just can’t put to words! If you visit Greece, this place should be on your list.
We did a day trip here from Athens and while it was a very long day (from Athens, it’s a 4 hour train ride each way)- but it was totally worth it!
🛫TRAVEL TIP🛬
These sites are considered “holy grounds” and therefore have “dress code” requirements for entry. Both men and women must not be wearing revealing clothing and clothes must cover knees… Regardless of gender, if you are wearing shorts- you will have to rent a wrap skirt to cover your knees or be denied entry. Ladies- if wearing pants, make sure to bring a wrap or scarf to fashion as a skirt for some of the sites too! And so definitely recommend comfortable flat shoes with good grip and there are lots of stairs!

Ahhhh…. Athens, Greece📍🗺
Reminiscing about our trip last year to Greece as I’m planning a trip for a new client! Athens is usually one of the stops in the itineraries I make- not only because it’s a convenient stop as most direct flights to Greece land in Athens, but also because it is so rich in Greek history and mythology! So much to do and see in Athens itself, but it’s also a great hub for taking multiple day trips to other islands and mainland areas while having the convenience of staying in the same hotel and not having to keep hauling your luggage around! 🧳
