DSC South Texas would like to welcome our newest Board Member, Carina Mayer! ✨
Carina was born & raised in Southern Germany, where she grew up surrounded by beautiful forests & abundant wildlife. Her father was an international hunter with a deep appreciation for both local wildlife & nature around the world. He taught her and her brother about wildlife behavior, responsible game management, & the importance of caring for the land we steward. They both followed in his footsteps, & hunting has remained a meaningful part of her life ever since.
In Germany, obtaining a hunting license requires extensive education in wildlife conservation and sustainable land management. This foundation shaped her belief that hunting and conservation go hand in hand, and that we all have a responsibility to contribute to preserving wildlife for future generations. She finds great fulfillment in spending time outdoors and has a strong passion for traveling, experiencing different cultures, & learning about hunting traditions around the world.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in International Business & began her career in accounting & sales before joining the Bl**er Group in Isny, Germany. As an International Sales Manager for J.P. Sauer & Sohn and Ma**er, she managed markets across Northern Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand, gaining valuable international experience within the hunting industry. During this time, she met her husband, Josh McBrayer, who shares a passion for hunting & conservation. Together, they have traveled throughout Europe, Africa, & North America on various hunting trips. She is excited about their upcoming trips to New Zealand & Limpopo next year and more adventures to come. In 2022, they relocated to San Antonio, TX where she currently works as a Business Analyst in Sales at Valero Energy, where she continues to grow professionally while contributing to a culture that values community involvement & giving back.
Carina states "I am eager to further my involvement with the Dallas Safari Club South Texas Chapter and to contribute my time, experience, and passion to support its mission of conservation and hunter education."
Join us in welcoming Carina!👏
