DVL strives to create an atmosphere of contentment and dedication to the task at hand, exchanging ideas with an understanding of the development process to ensure that ideas conceived in the mind can be communicated to the Client and implemented within economically means; preserving the integrity of the site and providing a means to the financial and social success of the project. To fashion an exciting and challenging golf course starts by discovering what God has already created for us all to enjoy – the beauty and diversity of the land - and then preserving these natural features within the strategy of each golf hole. This composite of unique golf holes becomes a work of art expressed within the landscape creating a memorable and exciting experience for the golfers.

Nantahala Pod A & B - Optional Hotel Sketch; with so much acticvity and limited development space in the Core Area, this study explores the opportunity for a 100 Room hotel with additional Rental Cabins. The enclosed year-round Fitness Center would increase the demand for this destination as an off-season Conference Facility. A simple Mass Grading Study illustrates how the 17 acres on the ridge top might take advantage of this unique site.

Nantahala Pod A sits perched 500 feet above and overlooking the Core Area at an elevation of 2250. The vistas to the mountain range beyond are spectacular and optimal views to the river and Outdoor Center Activity below abounds. These lots are 120 minimum frontage and easily accessed. Subwalls, while required, will be less than 18 feet in height.

Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City, North Carolina.
DJ spent 2 days on site working with manangement in a Charette environment to create this Master Plan. It is a rugged and dramaitic site. Virturally all of the homesites will have dramatic vista views - and can be built with conventional subwalls.
