This past weekend, I attended the Kentucky Derby, fulfilling one of my travel aspirations. Reflecting on my experience, I have identified several key takeaways that may be beneficial for those considering attendance next year.
•Go with a Charter Bus it makes leaving easier. We walked for miles to park in someone’s yard & they was charging $60
• Ponchos several( it almost always rain ) umbrellas are not allowed
• Where layers of clothes( under those beautiful dresses put some leggings and tshirts, don’t wear heels if you’re going to be in the Infield ( it’s like a mud pit)
• Bring shoe covers, clear backpacks ( left mine at home )
• $$$ infield tickets starts at $125 food & drinks was overpriced
• $$$$ if you want to be in the covered areas, VIP & penthouse suites $300- $9000 ( food & drinks included )
