Virgin Voyages just changed the rules on the MNVV (My Next Virgin Voyage placeholder) 🚢

What changed:
❌ Any MNVV bought after August 6th can no longer be transferred to someone else. Buy it in your own name.
✅ You no longer have to SAIL within the 2-year window. You just have to BOOK by your MNVV’s end date. This applies to old and new MNVVs!

Quick refresher: an MNVV is a deposit on a future voyage that gets you a discount plus $150–$250 in onboard credit, depending on the length of the cruise.

Amex cardholders: points are nice. Saving real money is nicer 🚢💸🌊

Amex just renamed its cruise perks to the Cruise & Yacht Collection: up to $300 onboard credit and 2x points on select sailings. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Here’s the math on a $6,000 cruise. 2x points is about 12,000 points, worth roughly $120 to $240. Add the $300 credit and you’re at about $540, at most.

Book with an advisor instead, and you can come out way ahead. I just saved my clients $1,100 on their cruise and added a $200 onboard credit on top. That’s $1,300. And you can still pay with your Amex and earn your card’s regular points.

Sailing out of Miami soon? Give yourself plenty of extra time to get to the port! 🚗🚢

Construction has been making port traffic painfully slow. A few miles can sometimes take up to two hours—and that’s a stressful way to start a vacation.

My tip: start checking traffic at least two hours before your scheduled arrival time, even if you’re staying nearby. If delays are building, you’ll have time to adjust. Keep your cruise line’s arrival instructions and final boarding deadline in mind, too.

Virgin Voyages is testing an old-Hollywood pool party on select sea days: pastels, a giant pink flamingo, the Happenings Cast dressed as Hollywood icons, Polaroids, and retro swimwear encouraged. It’s 90 minutes and included in your cruise fare.

Heads up: it’s a pilot, so it won’t be on every sea day or every sailing. Check your onboard schedule.
