Our family went to Asia for the holidays and had an incredible experience! As a “last hurrah” with just the seven of us (with college, jobs, etc we are entering a new season in our family), we decided to take a two week cruise on the Celebrity Millennium from Singapore to Hong Kong - truly the trip of a lifetime! Over the next week I’ll be sharing our travel adventures with you - along with tips and advice when traveling in Asia.
This first round of photos begin at the airport with our long haul flight to Incheon in South Korea. We experienced the all new Delta One suites (amazing!) with three incredible meals/snacks and wonderful service. The flight was long but the excitement of what was waiting ahead for us made it all worthwhile.
Arriving in Incheon, we discovered a few things. One, this airport is amazing and amazingly HUGE! High end shopping, roaming robots, endless dining choices, multiple lounges and even places to get a massage we’re all at our fingertips. You can even enjoy a complimentary tour of Seoul by visiting their information desk. We were in Terminal 2, which is the newer and smaller of the terminals. Here they offer the Korean Traditional Cultural Experience Centre with shoes and displays throughout the day. You can even enjoy a complimentary shower to freshen up after a long flight. Transferring between terminals is theoretically simple, but we experienced difficulty doing this as the language barrier is significant here and the signage not always excellent.
After another flight on Korean Air Lines we landed in beautiful Singapore! Our pre-booked transfer was waiting for us outside of baggage claim and off we went straight to our hotel, The Conrad, learning about the city as we drove.
After a short night’s sleep we went out to explore - the double helix bridge, the Marina Bay Mall and Gardens by the Bay. All incredible places! Definitely walk through Gardens by the Bay during the day as it’s absolutely gorgeous - and even more beautiful at night!
If you’re considering a trip to Asia, I’d love to help you figure it all out. Definitely the trip of a lifetime!
