Boarding day? Music pumping. Everybody dancing. Crew welcoming you aboard. Vacation energy at 100.

Disembarkation day?

“To the left, to the left…” 😭😂

And then they have the nerve to put an “Until your next adventure” sign in front of you while you’re walking off?! I AM ALREADY HURT. 😂

I left my camera unattended in the wild while I went to grab a drink…

THIS is the wildlife footage I recovered. 😂

Young Buck saw an unattended camera at a Utopia of the Seas night party and decided this was his moment. A lil’ move, a kiss for the camera, and then he disappeared back into his natural habitat.

Sir. I just went to get a DRINK. 😂

Cruise nightlife will give you memories you didn’t even know you were making.

Back in Atlanta: MADE IT.

Now why does the walk to Customs at ATL feel like the FINAL excursion of the vacation?! 😂

At this point, I don’t need baggage claim. I need a water station and a recovery snack.

If you’ve ever arrived internationally at Atlanta Airport, YOU KNOW THE WALK I’m talking about.

🚨 MUSTOLOGIST WEATHER ALERT 🚨

Georgia, I know these cooler mornings got y’all excited. You done pulled out a light jacket, ordered something pumpkin flavored and started talking about “fall is finally here.”

Ma’am.

Summer in the South is NOT finished with us. 😂

And Halloween is coming, which means somebody’s baby is about to be outside in 80-degree weather wearing polyester, faux fur, a wig, a mask AND a cape.

The official forecast?

100% chance of MUST.

Parents, what are your kids dressing up as this year? Because we need to determine their Must Level immediately. 😂

We’re sitting at breakfast, eating, vibin’ to the live musician playing his harp…

Then my brain finally processed the song.

WAIT.

Is this man playing LA CUCARACHA?!

Sir. 😐

Why are we singing about COCKROACHES while people are EATING?! 😂

And now all I can picture is a whole crew of roaches in the back doing a conga line:

Listen…sometimes the BEST vacation memories aren’t the ones on the itinerary. They’re the random moments you end up laughing about forever.

🎶 AT COCO CAYYYYY! 😂🏝️

Listen…I had 38 seconds, so I gave y’all the SPEED TOUR!

We stepped off Utopia of the Seas and went from seeing those HUGE water slides in the distance ➡️ Hideaway Beach ➡️ jet skis ➡️ soaking up as much of Perfect Day at CocoCay as we could.

And THIS is why I keep saying a cruise port day can be whatever you want it to be. Relax. Explore. Find some adventure. Or do a little bit of EVERYTHING like we did. 😂

Mike: discovers there are BATS in the cave 🦇😳

Listen…I encouraged the EXPERIENCE. I did not promise this man there wouldn’t be wildlife involved. 😂

Xcaret gave us beautiful scenery, adventure and apparently a test of Mike’s trust in his wife.

Would YOU keep swimming once you realized bats were flying around in the cave?!

🔑 WE FINALLY TRIED THE KEY WELCOME LUNCH!

Mike and I purchased The Key for our sailing aboard Utopia of the Seas, and one of the first benefits we got to experience was the exclusive Welcome Lunch.

And I’m gonna tell you right now…the food was good, but getting away from those EMBARKATION DAY CROWDS?! 😂🙌🏾

THAT was the luxury!

We started with fresh bread, I ordered the 6 oz. filet mignon, Mike went with the Chops Burger, and apparently neither one of us was willing to branch out for dessert because we BOTH ordered the cheesecake. 😂

And since we had the Deluxe Beverage Package…we put that to work too. 🍹

BOOKED! And this one is extra special!

I just finished getting my DAD booked on Utopia of the Seas for a Thanksgiving cruise, and baby…he isn't going alone.

21 travelers. One Thanksgiving cruise. A WHOLE lotta family memories loading!

And THIS is one of the reasons I love what I do.

Thanksgiving doesn’t always have to mean somebody spending two days in the kitchen, washing dishes, figuring out where everybody is going to sleep, and trying to squeeze 21 people around somebody’s dining room table.

Sometimes Thanksgiving can look like:

🛳️ Waking up on a cruise ship
🍽️ Letting somebody ELSE do the cooking
🌊 Enjoying the ocean with the people you love
😂 Laughing, exploring and making memories together
🙌🏾 And NOBODY arguing over who has to wash the dishes!

My dad’s crew chose Utopia of the Seas, and I had the pleasure of helping make it happen. This is what Coral of the Story Travel is about. Helping families stop saying, “We need to take a trip together one day,” and actually putting that trip on the calendar.

“Your SOIL is just as important as your SEED.”

I posted this a few years ago with no context. Funny thing is, I understand it differently now.

We spend a lot of time praying for the seed. The idea. The opportunity. The business. The purpose. The thing we’re asking God to bless and grow.

But what about the soil?

Because a good seed planted in soil that hasn’t been prepared may never become what it was created to be.

Looking back, I can see how God was preparing my soil long before Coral of the Story Travel ever became a business.

The traveling.
The life experiences.
The hard seasons.
The lessons.
The responsibilities.
The love for helping people.
The desire to show people that rest, experiences, and making memories aren’t things we have to feel guilty about.

At the time, those things just felt like pieces of my life.

Now I realize God was working the ground.

So when the seed for Coral of the Story was finally planted, it wasn’t starting from scratch. It was being planted in soil that had been cultivated through YEARS of experiences I didn’t even realize were connected.

And baby…that’ll preach. 😂

Sometimes we’re so busy asking God, “When is it going to grow?” that we overlook what He’s doing beneath the surface.

The waiting might be preparing your soil.
The struggle might be preparing your soil.
The experience you thought had absolutely NOTHING to do with your purpose might be preparing your soil.

The seed matters.

But never underestimate the soil God prepared before He gave you the seed. 🪸

“Your SOIL is just as important as your SEED.”

I understand that now more than I ever did when I first wrote it.
