🇺🇸 Today, we celebrate our independence — the moment we officially broke up with the monarchy and said, “It's not us, it's you.” 👋👑

While we all come from different backgrounds, beliefs, and barbecue sauce preferences — today is a reminder that we ARE one united nation, built on the mission of freedom for all. And although it may seem like a battle right now, we will never give up hope on a brighter tomorrow.

So whether you're waving a flag, lighting a sparkler, or just enjoying a well-earned day off — let's celebrate what makes this country uniquely ours and uniquely beautiful.

Back in 2010, snapping a scenic shot in the deserts of Saudi Arabia — a place that holds a big part of my childhood. I had returned for a visit and went on one of the many guided desert hikes we used to do, each trail revealing a new kind of geological wonder. 🏜

I remember this particular hike being especially tough — lots of climbing up and down cliff sides, and at one point, I had to just sit and catch my breath. But the views? Always worth it. 🐪

These hikes reminded me time and again: every corner of the world, even the quietest desert, holds secrets worth discovering — if you’re willing to look. Sometimes, you have to just get yourself out there to truly understand the value of adventure and discovery. 👣🌍

Today for lunch, my sister took me to the Seguin Schoolyard ( ). It was such a unique and awesome experience. It was originally built as a school before it was closed down and then later converted into a strip mall. The cool part is that this place is historical! It was remodeled with community and family in mind with its vibrant venue space, kids'playground, and plenty of seating and space for groups of any size. Each shop is unique with so much diversity! There's really no two shops alike here! 🛍️💈🎸🖌️🎭☕🥣

Today, my sister and I tried the SMAC'n Noodles ( ) and let me tell you, I was in Mac-n-Cheese BLISS!! They have numerous different ways to eat Mac on the menu so there's really something for everyone. I had the Tikka Mac and my sister had the Vegan Mac made with cashew cheese that was to die for! Well, they were both to die for. 🤤

We also stopped by Di Sucre ( ) and got a Guava Strawberry Cheese Cake filled croissant. AND MAN OH MAN. What a delicious treat! When we first entered the bakery, we were shocked by just how beautiful all the pastries were! They were all absolutely gorgeous and sounded so delicious! It was hard to choose our treat! 😋

There were so many other shops here to explore, we just didn't have the time on our lunch break. But without a doubt, I would highly recommend visiting all the shops here for a unique and fun experience. My sister and I will definitely be back when there's live entertainment to hang out, explore more shops, and enjoy the space even more. 😎💥

P.s. My sister's dog, Malaika, also needed you to know she had a great time too 😉🐾🐶
