We are getting closer to splash day! 8 of 10 hull coats are complete, mechanical work is done, running gear is painted and we are well on the way with hull / side painting.

We are hoping to splash and return to the marina on Monday.

It’s almost charter season !

But first we are doing a “2 year” haul out to make her pretty for the season.

This is the fist time the boat has been hauled out in 2 years and we are doing a lot of maintenance before the season starts. Part of this includes a complete refinish of the “bright work” hull. We hope to be back in the water in about two weeks and the charter season opens Memorial Day weekend. The booking calendar is open up to Fathers Day weekend with early season discount rates.

The rest of the calendar will open shortly.

We have also dropped our rates this year given the current state of the economy so there is no better time to come out.

The official start of the boat season, but not quite the charter season yet.

Today the winter cover came off and we fired up the engines from winter layup.

Next Saturday we depart for an expected 3 week haul out period - out first in 2 years.

Flashback Friday #3 01/09/26

We are back after a break for the holidays!

This week looks back again at year one and the fuel tank and wet exhaust system. We had planned to overhaul the wet exhaust while the deck was open. Clean, paint, new rubber joints and replacing all band clamps with bolt clamps. A lot of work but well worth it.

Once we had a chance to examine the original fuel tanks though we realized that scope creep was going to bite us again.

We weren't going to be comfortable putting the deck back and leave the original tanks in place. Out with the two steel tanks and in with a new custom aluminum tank.

"Deck the Hulls"

This is again from the first Yard Period 2021-200-2022 wich was the year of SCOPE CREEP. We knew we had a leak in the fore deck that had to be fixed and it was on the plan. We had hopped to remove the fasteners, pull up the oddly laid fore deck, repair and relay in a better pattern.

Fate laughed at us! We had to completely pull, and rebuild the foredeck and replace some of the framing. End the end though it was worth it as it came out great.

These weekly short posts will highlight some of the extensive renovation work completed over the last 4 years.

This week features the first item to enter the boats "Hall of Shame" an absolute construction gem installed by some previous owner - now removed!

And with this last cruise Brigadoon 2025 season is now in the books. At 336 miles we just missed last years high for total miles in a year, but that puts us at 1268 miles since we purchased her. Not too bad for mostly harbor cruising. I will miss the sound of those engines - until next year! Now begins maintenance season.
