Royal Caribbean has officially named its new Chief Dog Officer "Dolly," after fans suggested the name in the comments of a post from Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

Dolly wasn't originally on the shortlist, which included names like Hero, Scout, Marina, Pearl, Coco, Coral and Sandy, but the name gained popularity following the August 25 passing of country music singer Dolly Parton.

Fans are already celebrating the choice online, with some calling her "Dolly Pawton" and one commenter even suggesting she be named the ship's godmother.
