Join the community at the Brewer Riverwalk Festival on Saturday, June 6, for a day of fun along the Penobscot River. Enjoy live entertainment, local vendors, food, family activities, and plenty of opportunities to explore Brewer's beautiful waterfront.

Happy National Trails Day! 🌲🥾

Today is the perfect opportunity to explore the trails that connect our communities and showcase the natural beauty of the Greater Bangor Region.

Whether you prefer a leisurely walk through the woods, a family-friendly nature trail, or a more challenging hike, is home to countless ways to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. From the Bangor City Forest and Northeast Penjajawoc Preserve to local trails throughout our region, there's an adventure waiting around every corner.

National Trails Day is also a reminder of the importance of the volunteers, conservation organizations, and community partners who help build, maintain, and protect the places we love to explore.

Step into Bangor’s past with the Mount Hope Cemetery Walking Tour hosted by Bangor Historical Society. Explore one of the nation’s oldest garden cemeteries while uncovering the stories of some of Bangor’s most famous (and infamous!) residents. Along the way, you’ll learn the meaning behind historic gravestone symbolism and experience some of the most beautiful views in the city.

The Penobscot County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16 from 9am-2pm at 1423 Broadway in Bangor!

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to stock up on plants and support local conservation efforts at the same time. Join the Penobscot County Conservation Association on May 16 for their “Foraging for Wild Edibles” workshop in Brewer! Participants will spend the afternoon learning how to identify wild edible and medicinal plants found here in Maine while exploring the outdoors and connecting with nature in a hands-on way.
