Today is the perfect opportunity to explore the trails that connect our communities and showcase the natural beauty of the Greater Bangor Region.

Whether you prefer a leisurely walk through the woods, a family-friendly nature trail, or a more challenging hike, is home to countless ways to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. From the Bangor City Forest and Northeast Penjajawoc Preserve to local trails throughout our region, there's an adventure waiting around every corner.

National Trails Day is also a reminder of the importance of the volunteers, conservation organizations, and community partners who help build, maintain, and protect the places we love to explore.

The Penobscot County Soil & Water Conservation District is hosting its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16 from 9am-2pm at 1423 Broadway in Bangor!

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to stock up on plants and support local conservation efforts at the same time. Visitors will find a wide selection of plants available for cash-and-carry purchase, including fruit trees, annuals, herbs, vegetable seedlings, small edibles, and more.
