The Virginia Creeper Trail has been voted Best Biking Trail by readers of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine for the third year in a row! Congratulations to the Virginia Creeper Trail Conservancy for also being voted Best Environmental Organization!

The Virginia Creeper Trail stretches 34 miles from Whitetop to Abingdon, passing through downtown Damascus along the way. Inducted into the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame in 2014, the Virginia Creeper Trail is one of the most famous biking trails in the United States. Seven bike outfitters in town offer bike rental and shuttle to Whitetop Station. From there, the trail flows downhill on a relaxed railroad grade for 17 miles through Mount Rogers National Recreation Area back to Damascus. Add-on 17 more miles by biking all the way to Abingdon, or hop on another shuttle for two days on the trail!
