Embracing the Storm, LLC

Embracing the Storm, LLC Providing Loving Guidance for Parents through Divorce and Re-marriage Feeling Overwhelmed? We are all faced with the storms of life at one time or another.

Some of the most difficult storms to weather are the ones involving family. When a family is faced with divorce and remarriage it can place a tremendous burden and strain on the parent-child relationship. During these transitions children often feel left behind or caught in the middle. Most children feel as though they have to choose, or worse that it is their fault somehow. If you’re noticing an

increase in any of the following behaviors:

Back-talking or arguing
Everything becoming a struggle
Fighting/biting siblings or playmates
Withdrawing or losing interest
Frustration, angry tantrums or aggressiveness

We can help—

With the breakdown in the security they have always found in the family, or the challenges faced with establishing their new role in a new family setting there is more uncertainty than many children are equipped to handle without consistent parental guidance and encouragement. With the parent’s time consumed with their changing roles and additional responsibilities, finding even more time to devote to all of these new needs quickly feels overwhelming. Add to this the challenge for the children to figure out how this will work in two very different households instead of one—and you have the ingredients for trouble. What we Deliver! Insight, training and information to help children emerge from these experiences with a solid grasp on:

Self-reliance
Empowerment
Cooperation
Wise decision-making
Sense of purpose

Coaching

The coaching aspect of what we do is private, focused time dedicated weekly to getting the most advantage possible out of the one-to-one experience for you and your children. Your first 50-minute session is always free. Courses

Our courses reinforce the strengthening of the family as a solid support network. They are designed to help families establish consistent, clear lines of communication by providing powerful, yet simple tools for turning as little as 5 minutes into a quality experience for the children. Meet Your Coach

Scott Huber is a certified parenting instructor for INCAF (International Network for Children and Families). He teaches the Redirecting Children’s Behavior course and is available for speaking engagements, workshops and private family coaching. Scott has a clear understanding of the challenges a family faces in divorce, single parenting and step-parenting.

With over 25 years of corporate management experience leading both Fortune 50 as well as privately held companies through the training process and cultural change for creating collaborative team environments, Scott has realized the value of these concepts in the home. He joined INCAF in 2002 to help parents create an environment in the home that fosters empowerment and teaches children the basics of self-reliance, cooperation and personal responsibility.

Scott is a Charter Practitioner for the Power of TED* – The Empowerment Dynamic and he volunteers his time teaching inmates the concepts of the creative process of empowerment. The goal of the program is to prepare inmates to participate differently when they return to their communities upon their release from prison. He also incorporates these concepts in his coaching practice. Scott has also served as a former Capital Area CASA volunteer advocating on behalf of children in need of care.
