PREPARING TO ENCOUNTER ICE AT THE AIRPORT 👇

THE GOAL OF THIS POST IS NOT TO SCARE YOU. MY INTENTION IS TO ADDRESS THE REALITY OF THIS SITUATION AND WORK TOGETHER TO PREPARE OURSELVES GOING IN 🙌

It looks like ICE will be present at airports across the US starting Monday, March 23rd, 2026. I want to compile a reasonable list of action items we can take to prepare ourselves. Let me know what you think of this list below and what you think we should add

➡️ Share your travel plans, including locations, when you should be where, and flight numbers, with at least 2 trusted adults. Make a plan for how soon after your expected arrival you will be confirming you've made it to your destination, and action steps to take if this timeline isn't met

➡️ Memorize your attorney's phone number

➡️ My fellow white LGTC members, understand and acknowledge that we DO have an extreme amount of privilege in this situation. BIPOC travelers ARE going to face increased scrutiny and racial profiling - decide in advance how you are going to support BIPOC travelers

➡️ Determine your comfort level with having your social media on your phone. Remember that best practice is to turn your facial recognition OFF. You may even want to travel with a burner phone - consider your options and make the best decision for you

➡️ Plan to arrive to the airport EARLY, earlier than you normally would. You can check the wait times of major airports online, and I'll put a link in the comments for more info on that

➡️ Remember that this is NOT NORMAL. The president's private military taking over major points of entry/exit to our country is TERRIFYING.

➡️ Stay educated and up to date on your rights and the actions you can take

Again, I want this list to be ACTION FOCUSED so we can help each other to prepare, especially things we can and should be doing to protect our BIPOC travelers

I recently joined this incredible FB group called Liberal Girlfriends Travel Club ✨ (LGTC). It was started and is run by my BADASS new friend Erin. If you're a liberal woman (and let's be honest, if you're still one of my FB friends, you're a liberal), you may want to check out this group.

Thank GOD for my travel advisor business right now! It's helping me to focus on joy! I'm in my happy place when I'm planning bespoke adventures for my clients.

Yes, people are definitely traveling abroad right now. I'm working with several clients who are planning trips for later this year to

🍀 Ireland, 💃🏻 Spain, 🦜Brazil, and 🛵 Italy.

Mark and I are joining Masterfully Planned Experiences (MPE) in Egypt with an extension to Jordan in March of 2027 (there's still some space on this trip if you'd like to join us), so we're saving up and staying in the U.S. instead of going abroad this year and I've planned a few smaller personal travel trips for us instead.

We're going to visit my kids in New Orleans in April and do the desert southwest in June with Mark's family (Phoenix, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Vegas).

On the travel advisor side, I'm directing a group trip to Seattle this year (dates are still being worked out) and hoping to take another group to Morocco in November and the European Christmas markets in December.

Alison McMaster and I have been busy planning all the final details for our Masterfully Planned Experiences Christmas Market trip to France, happening the first week of December. All I can say is...
