A Bayfield fall tradition since 1962! AppleFest celebrates the area’s apple-growing heritage and the local orchards that make this little Lake Superior town so special.

Spend the weekend exploring the Bayfield, WI FruitLoop for locally grown apples, fresh c***r and orchard stops, then head downtown for street vendors, local food, live music, parades and plenty of fall fun. 🍎🍂

One of our favorite times of year in Bayfield—and a fun way to experience both the orchards and downtown all in one weekend!

🥾 Hike to the Mainland Sea Caves — No Kayak Required! 🌊
🏠Stay at 🍏Bayfield Fruit Loop Retreat | Cabins 🫐 a 20 min drive from the sea caves trail Bayfield, WI.

One of our favorite hikes near Bayfield is the 🌊🥾Lakeshore Trail from Meyers Beach in Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

The trail winds through a beautiful Lake Superior forest before reaching incredible cliff-top views of the mainland sea caves, sandstone arches, hidden coves and turquoise water below.

🥾 About 4.3 miles round trip to explore the main sea-cave area
⏱️ Allow roughly 2–3 hours
🌲 Moderate — expect roots, rocks, stairs, boardwalks and uneven terrain
🌊 Multiple overlooks along the sandstone cliffs
🍄 Keep an eye on the forest floor — we spotted so many different varieties of colorful mushrooms and fungi along the way!
🚗 Parking/day-use fee required at Meyers Beach

The sea caves get most of the attention from the water, but seeing them from above gives you a completely different perspective. And the hike through the forest is just as much a part of the experience as the views!
