The 3rd mile of the Bouchoux Trail greeted us with a beautiful, calm, and refreshing little creek. That is where we decided to turn back, so the rest of the trail is still calling for adventure!

Hike number next during my daughter’s spring break was Bouchoux Trail. The beginning of Bouchoux Trail is pretty steep, gaining about 1,400 feet elevation in less than 1 mile. Fallen leaves from last year made the pathway slippery. Tiny water streams leaking through the mountain and crossing the trail here and there add up to the challenge. Yet the view is worth every step up. This time of the year you can see the river even through the foresty mountain side
