Food by Foot Culinary Walking Tour
Participants will ride along the waterfront and through beautiful historic streets, stopping at several of Beaufort’s best culinary treasures. Inside, they’ll nosh and sip on some of the most delicious flavors on the Crystal Coast. It’s an opportunity to taste some of the best restaurants in Beaufort in one trip. Sunday Brunch Walkabout
Enjoy Sunday Brunch at Beaufort Grocery Company, one of the region's most renowned dining establishments. Enjoy a mimosa, Bloody Mary, or non-alcoholic beverage. We'll take a walking tour through Beaufort's historic district. All bicycle tours depart from our Welcome Center located at 406 Live Oak Street, Beaufort, North Carolina 28516. Group Reservations
We can provide you with a group tour for up to 15 people for walking tours. Let us know what you'd like to do with your group. Give us an idea of the date and time you'd like to go on a tour. It's great for small, intimate groups. Getting married on The Crystal Coast? Hungry Town Tours is perfect for wedding parties or bachelorette parties.

Thanks for the Memories!

Ten years ago today, we started a journey down the roads of Beaufort. What a ride it has been! But, the time has come for me to take the road less traveled.

Last Fall, we discontinued our bicycle tours and donated 32 bicycles to the local Boys & Girls Club. It was bittersweet but the roads in Beaufort are more heavily traveled.

The intent was to continue with our historic walking tours. However, that all changed with my foot surgery. I expect a full recovery in the next couple of months.

To our many guests, we have been humbled by your response to our tours from the beginning. Many people returned with family members and friends to learn about Beaufort’s fascinating history. Three-generation tours were always special for us.

We have literally met thousands of people throughout the country and internationally. You were the passion that kept us going. Every day was a new adventure.

Thank you for making us the number one tour in Beaufort by helping us attain Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Award each year.

Our restaurant partners have been incredible to work with on our culinary tours. We spent many Sundays at Beaufort Grocery for our Bike, Brunch & Bubbles tour.

Things really changed with the restaurants and our ability to showcase them due to the pandemic. The charm of these chef-owned and managed restaurants created the magic that our guests experienced.

It was an honor working with the Nicholas Sparks Foundation with A Ride to Remember based on Nicholas Sparks two books - "A Walk to Remember" and "The Choice." We always appreciated Nick's kind words and the support from his assistant Tia!

We also want to thank the media editors and writers that experienced Hungry Town Tours. From the 22-page pictorial in Our State magazine to a feature in Forbes, it was a privilege to showcase Beaufort for the Crystal Coast TDA and VisitNC.

We feel lucky that we created a Beaufort experience that was of interest to their readership.

Most of all, we want to thank the locals who greeted our groups and waved as we passed by their homes. Many even opened their historic homes and shared stories with our guests. They truly showed their pride in their homes and the town.

We have always said we wanted to live in a place that we did not have to vacation from. We have accomplished that.

I’ve enjoyed the ride as much as you. I got to live my dreams.

I look forward to our next chapter.

It was a beautiful day for the Historic Beaufort Walking Tour with this group of ladies. They enjoyed our walk through the Beaufort historic district and the waterfront.

After much consideration, we have decided to make some changes to Hungry Town Tours and pivot our business. So, what does that mean? Hungry Town Tours is not going anywhere. After 10 wonderful years, we will continue to create the Beaufort experience for visitors, locals, and boaters alike.

We have thought long and hard about this decision. We have decided to discontinue our bike tours and rentals. You'll still see Betsy riding her own bike through Beaufort.

By collaborating with the Beaufort Police Department, the Town of Beaufort, and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Plains, we have donated 32 bicycles to the deserving youth at the Beaufort Teen Center.

We will continue to do our walking culinary tours. As you know, this has been a very difficult time for the restaurant industry. Beaufort has been no exception. We are pausing the culinary tours until our restaurant partners get back to normal – whatever and whenever that normal may be. In the meantime, please support the local restaurants and bars. The servers and bartenders need your help. Be Kind. Be Respectful. Be Patient.

Providing outstanding customer service has always been the cornerstone of success for Hungry Town Tours. We are proud to be the recipient of the 2022 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award and the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence award for the past 9 years. We continue to be the #1 tour company on Tripadvisor with over 400 reviews.

At the end of this month, we be moving out of our Welcome Center on Live Oak Street.

We will continue to take advanced telephone reservations so we can customize your personal experience. Themed tours will continue by foot. We will continue to feature the locations in Beaufort that were inspired by The New York Times Best Selling Author Nicholas Sparks and referenced in his books, “A Walk to Remember” and “The Choice.” We are proud to be in partnership with the Nicholas Sparks Foundation. Girlfriend getaways, bachelorette parties, and group tours will continue.

We’re excited to usher in a new era for Hungry Town Tours. We’ll roll out a new fresh website shorty and give you more information on our next chapter.
