DIY Funny Tin Can Wall Planters
Materials
2 empty tin cans
Acrylic paint (lime green, yellow, pink, black, white, blue)
Paintbrushes
Large googly eyes
Thick jute rope
Colorful twisted rope or yarn
Plastic bottle caps
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Drill or hammer and nail
Potting soil
Small flowers and greenery
Clear sealant spray (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Tin Cans
Wash the cans thoroughly and remove labels.
Smooth any sharp edges with sandpaper.
Drill 2 small holes near the top for hanging.
Drill a few drainage holes in the bottom.
Step 2: Paint the Cans
Paint one can bright lime green.
Paint the second can bright yellow.
Allow the paint to dry completely.
Add pink cheeks, smiling mouths, and cartoon details using acrylic paint.
Step 3: Add the Faces
Glue oversized googly eyes onto each can.
Paint or glue a tongue onto the green can for a playful expression.
Outline facial features with black paint for a bold cartoon look.
Step 4: Create the Hanging System
Thread thick jute rope through the top holes.
Tie secure knots inside the cans.
Adjust the rope length for even hanging.
Step 5: Make the Dangling Legs
Cut 4 equal lengths of colorful twisted rope for each planter.
Glue or knot them to the bottom of the cans.
Attach colorful bottle caps to the rope ends as feet.
Step 6: Plant the Flowers
Add a thin layer of pebbles for drainage.
Fill the cans with potting soil.
Plant bright flowers and greenery.
Lightly water the plants.
Step 7: Display
Hang the planters against a wall or fence.
Arrange them side by side for a playful garden display.
Spray with a clear outdoor sealant if using outdoors.
