If you were to travel to Africa what would you rather go for? The continent is filled with so many different cultural, historical and wildlife experiences, each country has something special for everyone. Take the country of Ghana for example, while it isn't fully known for safari adventures, it has a rich history as a leader in Africa's independence movement. To this day, the county has continued to influence the surrounding territories around it - helping in shaping their cultural identities and reconnection amongst the chaos of an ever-changing world. Making it one of the best African locations for a culture-rich adventure!

In the spirit of this year's immense rainy season, we continue to celebrate the waters of southern and central Africa! Post-rain seasons open up so many different opportunities for safariing, including river or boating safaris in the Okavango Delta until the end of October. If you've ever wanted to go fishing side by side with hippos and over water dwellers, the coming month are a great time of year to do so.

Check out some of our sample itineraries on Botswana and Zimbabwe to see what's possible!

Traveling around to multiple camps in Namibia has become easier than ever. Over the span of several years, Airstrips have been opening near several camps, creating a more easily regulated flying circuit from one to the next. This creates more time on the ground, taking in more of the desert wilderness instead of traversing longer and more complicated multi-hour/day journeys from one to the next.
With the increased rainfall across the delta plains this year, this desert landscape will undergo a dramatic change, making it the perfect opportunity to visit!

In need of an island vacation but are looking for a more unique experience? Madagascar might be a great option for an adventurous island journey. Not only are there the usual beaches and resorts of a typical island trip, but it is also full of some of the most colorful landscapes and unique wildlife on the planet.
From the playful ring-tailed Lemurs who dance across the forest floor. The Tsingy, dramatic limestone structures of spires and canyons to endlessly explore. Or the Baobab's creating striking silhouettes seen along the horizon of some of its more desert-like landscapes.
Sounds like something up your alley? Ask us more about the Madagascar experience!

The Okavango Delta is no stranger to rainfall, especially during its rainy season - on average, millions of gallons yearly flow from the Angolan Highlands to the Kalahari. This year, however, Botswana has seen an unusual amount of rain and it's only the start of the rainy season! So, much so that it's flooded several airfields and camps around the area. Locals thought this would disperse the amount of wildlife as well, but on the contrary, it has increased in abundance! The camps have simply adapted to more water-friendly means of safari excursion for the time being.

In the highlands of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, lie not only 5 (non-active) major volcanoes, but 12 different gorilla families roaming the lush tropical and bamboo forests that you can walk alongside while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
This forest also happens to be the site of Dian Fossey's research center and autobiographical film. "Gorillas in the Mist"
Visiting here is the perfect adventure for hikers and wildlife enthusiasts alike!

For today's National Puppy Day, we are celebrating the endangered African Wild Dog! These social pack animals function as a hierarchy in which only the alpha pair reproduces. However, Wild dogs are obligate cooperative breeders, meaning the whole pack chips in to raise the litter after the pups reach about three weeks old!

The hunters of the pack don't bring back the food in a traditional sense either; rather, they regurgitate meat for both the alpha mother and her pups. Wild Dogs are very social animals that function wholly as a unit for the good of the pack.

Happy St Patrick's Day! While many Westerners might not think so, many African nations celebrate today with the same level of spirit. Cities like Cape Town in South Africa features several pub parties and live events throughout. Pubs like The Ferryman, Forester's Arms, and Woodstock Brewery are amongst the most popular.

Did you know? Zambia is home to more than 750 recorded species of birds? This is in part thanks to the country's diverse habitats. Spanning from vast forests, open grasslands, and tons of river channels cutting through the landscapes.

During the now green season in the region (November-April) the bird activity is at its peak in the South Luangwa region - following dramatic courtship displays, territorial calls, and constant movement throughout the canopies of trees! This is the perfect time for avid bird watchers to visit.

In the northern reaches of the Okavango lies a new camp of semi-permanent tents, Expeditions Camp. The area is known as one of the favorites of the region, nestled under a grove of ebony trees. This atmosphere gives travelers the perfect balance of adventure with the comfort of 'glamping.' Putting you right in the heart of the wilderness, on and off safari.
