I have to admit something…

I went into my Margaritaville at Sea Islander cruise expecting to be disappointed when it came to dessert. 😅

I’m used to those signature chocolate desserts that seem to show up on cruise lines, so when I didn’t see anything like that on the regular dinner menus, I figured I was just going to have to accept my chocolate-less fate.

Then, sometime around night two or three, someone in our group ordered from the kids menu.

And there it was.

A brownie. With ice cream. 🍫🍨

Problem solved.

Yes, I ordered the kids dessert.
No, I’m not ashamed of it. 😂

Honestly, this is one of those little things I look for when I travel. Not just the big-ticket stuff, but the little details that make a trip work for you. And sometimes that means knowing where to look when the thing you're craving isn't sitting right in front of you.

That’s part of what I bring to the table as a travel advisor. I don’t just want to help you pick a ship and hit “book.” I want to help you figure out the experience that fits you—including the important stuff. Like chocolate. 😎

Because apparently, sometimes the kids menu is exactly what you need.

The pool deck is one of those places on a cruise ship where you can really get a feel for the experience.

On Margaritaville at Sea Islander, this area brings a lot together — the LandShark Pool, LandShark Bar, cabanas, and the big screen for movies and other entertainment. There’s plenty happening, but there are also plenty of places to just sit back and enjoy the day.

And this is exactly why I like being able to personally experience these ships before recommending them.

As a Travel Advisor, I don't want to just tell you what a cruise line's website says. I want to know what the ship actually feels like, how the spaces work, what's worth paying extra for, and who I think will genuinely enjoy the experience.

These are the details that help me match you with the right cruise — not just sell you a cabin.

I talked someone out of booking a cruise.
A friend asked me about Virgin Voyages. She normally sails Royal Caribbean, so I started asking what she loves about Royal.
The big ships.
The slides.
The surf simulator.
Having tons to do onboard.
And I realized pretty quickly:
Virgin probably isn't her cruise.
Virgin does some things incredibly well, but if those are the things you love most about cruising, why would I try to sell you on something that doesn't offer them?
That's what I want to do as your travel advisor.
Not sell you a cruise. Help you find the right one.
Sometimes that's Carnival. Sometimes Royal. Sometimes Virgin. And sometimes I'll tell you, "I don't think that's your trip."

Orlando theme parks aren't just a destination I sell. They're a world I know.

I work in one of Orlando's theme parks. I'm not going to tell you which one, but I can tell you that I spend my working days watching guests experience the parks firsthand.

I've worked the day before a hurricane.

I've worked a January day when it was 38° outside.

I've worked busy days, quiet days, perfect weather days, and days when the weather absolutely did not cooperate.

I've seen what makes a park day great. I've seen the little things guests ask about, the things they don't think to ask about, and all the moving pieces that go into creating a really good theme park vacation.

🍤 The best dish I had on my Margaritaville at Sea Islander cruise?

Antigua Shrimp. Night 4. Fins Dining Room.

Grilled jumbo shrimp, coconut rice, and mango salsa.

And honestly… I have no idea why I ordered it. 😂

I'm not a huge fan of coconut. I'm not a huge fan of mango. So this really shouldn't have been the dish I was excited about.

But WOW. I'm so glad I took the chance.

The shrimp were fantastic, but the game changer was letting that coconut rice soak up the mango salsa. The flavors together were absolutely incredible. One of those meals where you take a bite and immediately think, “Yep. I'm really glad I ordered this.”

Out of everything I ate on the Islander last week, this was the one that stood out to me.

And that's one of the reasons I love cruising. Sometimes the best meal is the one you almost didn't order. 🌴🍤

Small Ship or Mega Ship?

Small ship. Mega ship. More dining? More entertainment? More intimate? More to do?

Honestly, I don't think there’s a universal right answer.

I’ve sailed different cruise lines, different ship sizes, and very different styles of cruising. And what I’ve learned is that the best ship isn’t necessarily the newest ship, the biggest ship, or the one with the most things to do.

It’s the one that fits you.

That’s where I come in.

You can spend hours scrolling through deck plans, watching ship tours, reading reviews and trying to figure out which cruise is actually right for you.
