So thankful to The Travel Institute for trusting me to lead 15 advisors in a CTA study group and to AmaWaterways for hosting us on the AmaViola and AmaLea on the Rhine and Delft River. All 15 advisors earned their CTA and had a great time learning about river cruising!

Made it to Amsterdam!! We had a nice walk from our hotel to visit the Rijksmuseum to see Rembrandt and Vermeer. The museum itself is a work of art with beautiful gardens and paintings on the outside walls.

Today went Dordrecht, Holland to see the windmills. These windmills pull the water out to move to the river and then out to sea.
We visited Kinderdijk where hobbyists have taken over the windmills but show how they work. There are areas that are about 4-6 feet under sea level and some areas that are 20 feet under sea level. The lower the sea level the higher the taxes to pay for staying above water!

Brugges Belgium, an UNESCO city with beautiful canals and buildings. Our Lady cathedral is home to the only Mother Mary and Jesus sculpture made by Michaelangelo outside of Italy. Home of lace, there is an actual map of the city made of lace. And of course, I bought chocolate!

Wow!!! 🤩 Antwerp is a must see!!! We had a great food tour and rain!! To say you are from Antwerp is to say you are from The City. Food from all over but the Belgium chocolate, the frites (French fries) and the Brussels waffles- oh my word!

Today was a bus day. The Rhine River is currently 2 inches deep in Rhine Gorge area so it’s impassable at this time. Five heat waves and no rain will do that!! So we packed our things and took a bus to Luxembourg and got walk around before getting back on the bus to come to Antwerp, Belgium and do something different to get to Amsterdam. It’s been 30 years since I have last been to Luxembourg and it is beautiful still. Such fascinating history here!
Can’t wait to try Belgium tomorrow!!!
