We visited Moraine Lake in 2023, and when we saw the cabins, Guylaine and I both wondered, “How awesome would it be to stay here?”

So we decided to find out.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we bit the bullet and paid the ridiculous price to spend our first night at Moraine Lake Lodge.

Was it actually WORTH IT? 🇨🇦

We woke up at Emerald Lake Lodge to pretty much the exact Rocky Mountain morning we had imagined...

And then the plans started falling apart. 😂

The canoe lineup was ridiculous. Lake Louise was packed. Rain rolled in. And the Lake Agnes Tea House hike we had planned our whole day around never even happened.

But then we found Takakkaw Falls... and it became one of our favourite stops of the entire trip.

This episode is a pretty good reminder that sometimes the best travel days aren't the ones that go according to plan.

In case you missed the big announcement, we sold the trailer this week! 😬

We haven't really been using it, and while we are still going to travel and make videos, we will be "trailerless" for the foreseeable future.

So the question is: Do we continue as "Trailer Travelin'" without the trailer, or do we change the channel name to something a little more travel-centric?

Only got one day in Jasper?

We thought we had a pretty solid plan.
Maligne Lake Cruise. Jasper SkyTram. Whistlers Peak. A few Icefields Parkway stops. Athabasca Falls. Then a late drive to Emerald Lake Lodge.

On paper, beautiful.
In real life, a little tight. 😅

The Maligne Lake Cruise ran longer than expected, the SkyTram and summit hike took more time than we planned, and some stops just didn’t make the cut.

This one’s not a perfect Jasper travel guide. It’s more of a real look at what actually fits when you’re travelling with limited time, tired legs, and that quiet pressure to make the day count.

We show you what worked, what got cut, and what we’d probably skip next time.

We’ve stopped at Bow Lake Viewpoint a bunch of times. 🏔️

But did you know that just a short way off the highway is Bow Lake Lodge, with views of Bow Lake Falls and Bow Glacier?

Neither did we.

And now we’re wondering how we missed it before. 😂

This little stop turned into one of those “well, that was worth pulling over for” moments on our Calgary to Jasper travel day.

Only downside was the parking. It’s limited, and it fills up fast, so this is probably one of those stops where earlier is better.

Still tired. Still behind schedule. Still glad we found it.
