Brides, I've been thinking about you lately.

I'm currently designing a six-week journey for a client, and somewhere between all the research, questions, little details and figuring out what really matters to them, something clicked.

This is exactly what I love doing.

Then I look through the wedding groups and see so many of you right here. You have the screenshots. The saved posts. The notebook. The vision. You know how you want your wedding to **feel**, but figuring out how all those pieces actually come together is another story.

Especially my DIY brides.

Maybe a full wedding planner isn't in your budget. Maybe you don't want one. You *want* to be hands-on.

Okay, I told you guys I had more coming with Treasured and this is one of the ideas I've been working on that I absolutely LOVE. 🤎

Think about the last wedding, birthday, anniversary or family gathering you went to.

There are always a million little things happening that the person being celebrated never gets to see.

Your dad laughing with someone across the room.

Grandma dancing.

Your friends being completely ridiculous.

The kids doing who knows what. 😂

Someone telling a story about you.

The stuff happening while everyone else is paying attention to something completely different.

And honestly, those might end up being the things you would give anything to see again someday.

So I started thinking...

What if we actually made sure someone was capturing them?

That's where **Treasured Home Movies** came from.

I provide the cameras and you put them in the hands of your people. Your sister, your best friend, your kids, your cousin, whoever you know will have fun with it.

Then just let them go.

I don't want perfect.

I want the laughing, the bad angles, the behind the scenes stuff, the dancing, the conversations and all those random little moments nobody thought were important at the time.

I'm even creating little Memory Missions to give them things to look for throughout the day.

And this isn't just for weddings.

An 80th birthday. A family reunion. An anniversary. Graduation. Girls weekend. A big family vacation.

Imagine watching those videos 10 or 20 years from now and seeing everyone exactly as they were in that moment.

THAT is what I want Treasured to be about.

Finding ways to keep pieces of the days we wish we could hold onto forever. 🤎

The website is still getting its makeover and I'm still adding things as I go, but I couldn't wait any longer to share this one.

I have a feeling the imperfect videos might end up being the most perfect ones.

This one means a lot to me. Raven turned 30, and instead of a normal gift, I wanted to give her something that actually felt like her whole life.

So I pulled together ten years of it. Her music, her festivals, the people she loves, her dog, all the little things that make her who she is, and turned it into one canvas. When she finally saw it, she teared up. That reaction is exactly why I love doing this.

This is the first of what I'm calling keepsakes: a hand-designed tribute to someone's entire story, made to hang on a wall and be looked at for years. These are deeply personal, so nothing gets shared publicly without the person's permission first.

I recently finished another one as a wedding gift. It's already with the buyer, and she'll be gifting it on the wedding day, so I can't show it until after that, but I cannot wait to.

I've also done pieces that go well beyond a canvas, full custom designs built entirely around someone's story, more elaborate than most people expect when they hear "keepsake." If you want to see what's possible, that's the best way to describe it: however big the story, I can build something to match it.

I've been working on something for a while and I'm finally ready to share it.

When I started Northern Michigan Travel Guide, I really thought most of what I would be doing was helping people plan their trips here. Where should we stay? What should we do? Who should we call? Where are the places that aren't necessarily the first thing that pops up on Google?

And I do love that part of it.

But somewhere along the way I realized that what I really love is helping people make something special out of the time they have here.

That's the part where I get excited.

Tell me you're coming up for a bachelorette weekend and you want to make the most of three days together.

Tell me you're getting married here and you still haven't found the place that feels right.

Tell me your whole family is finally getting together for a week and you found the house, but now you have no idea what everyone is going to do.

Tell me you're planning a birthday, an anniversary, a proposal, a girls' weekend or even just a few days away with people you love.

That's when my brain starts going.

Who do I know? Where could we do this? What would make it better? What can I take off your plate? What could I add that would make everyone walk in and say, "Oh my gosh, I love this."

And I think that's what I've been trying to figure out with Northern Michigan Travel Guide this whole time.

I don't just want to tell people what's here.

I want to help people make memories here.

So I'm changing things a little.

**Northern Michigan Travel Guide is becoming Treasured.**

And no, I'm not getting rid of the travel side of what I do. Actually, it's the opposite.

Everything I've learned from growing up here, working here, exploring this area and getting to know so many amazing local businesses and people is what makes this next part possible.

I can still help you figure out where to stay and what to do.

But now I can also help with everything around it.

Maybe you found the perfect vacation house but want groceries waiting when you arrive.

Maybe you want a beautiful dinner set up without spending half of your vacation planning it.

Maybe you need transportation, a private chef, a photographer or someone local you can actually trust.

Maybe you want to surprise somebody.

Maybe you have an idea and honestly have no clue how to pull it off.

Or maybe you just want to show up and enjoy your people instead of being the person worrying about every little detail.

That's where Treasured comes in.

I'm also bringing something completely different into this business that I absolutely LOVE making, my Story Canvas keepsakes.

That actually started because I wanted to make something really personal for someone I love. Once I made it, I realized it fit into everything else I was trying to do.

Because really, it's all about the same thing.

People.

Their stories.

The people they love.

And those little moments in life that end up meaning so much more than we realize when they're happening.

So that's Treasured.

It's still Northern Michigan. It's still me. I'm still going to tell you where to go and who I trust.

I'm just taking it further now.

I want to help make the time you spend here something you actually treasure.

The website is changing and I'm still moving things around and probably will be for a while because apparently I can't leave anything alone once I start. 😂

But for the first time, I feel like this business finally makes sense to me.

I'm really excited to see where it goes.

How was your Fourth of July weekend?
I want to hear where you ended up. Boyne City parade? Mackinac Island fireworks? A quiet lake somewhere nobody else knew about?
The holiday weekend always reminds me why I do this. Northern Michigan does Independence Day better than anywhere I have ever been and I have been coming up here my whole life.
