Earlier this month, our MSU chapter was able to send our competition teams to the ASCE Pacific Northwest Regional Competition in Portland, OR. Montana State brought teams for all six competitions offered and received awards in every competition. Thank you so much to Portland State University and University of Portland for hosting the competition this year!

Earlier this month, members of our leadership team had the opportunity to attend a Western Student Leadership Conference in San Diego with ASCE! Our leadership teams were able to learn new tools to bring back to our chapters and connect with other student leaders and businesses across Regions 8&9. We are all very excited to continue to grow the connections made and to bring what we know to our chapters!

So proud of all our competition teams that competed at the Pacific Northwest regionals this weekend!

Mead Paper – Emma Morgan placed 1st out of 14 papers!

Sustainable Solutions – The team placed 1st and will be going to the National Championships at Brigham Young in June!

Steel Bridge – The team passed all load and deflection requirements, built the bridge in under 30 minutes, and placed 2nd for Aesthetics!

Concrete Canoe – The team presented well, were top notch at interacting with the judges and answering questions, and held strong finishing all the races with only a few nicks and bruises. They placed 3rd in Women’s Slalom!
