A friend has a few days available to tour Colorado and asked for suggestions. I LOVE This! I went crazy and added some scenic drives. Starting in Boulder. Enjoy the Pearl Street Mall restaurants, shops and Buskers. Drive up to Nederland through the beautiful Boulder Canyon. Head North from there to Estes. Stay off the Main Hwy. This drive is stunning with Autumn colors. YOU MUST drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. You may need to reserve an Entrance Time. Reserve Now! Head through Grand Lake, Granby, Winter Park. Hungry? Stop at Denos in Winter Park. Head over Berthoud Pass down to I-70, west to Loveland Pass. On Top of the World! Stop, put your jacket on, Again and take in the views. I believe that Bob Seger inspired here when he wrote "Roll Me Away" ( I could go East, I could go West ) Head down to the Lake Dillon Tiki Bar for refreshments with gorgeous views. Take Swan Mountain Road around the Lake towards another classicly beautiful Colorado Village, Frisco. STOP at the Moose Jaw! Head West towards Leadville, Colorado, one of the highest towns in the US, surrounded by multiple 14,000ft mountain peaks. Down to Twin Lakes, Up, Up, Up to Independence Pass ( one of my most favorites ) take some time to hike up the path for scenic views. Down to Aspen, through a narrow, winding mountain road. Another Must Do with Fall Colors. Must Do! Spend a lot of time walking around Aspen, parking near Wagner Park. Historical stop at the Hotel Jerome. You MUST DRIVE through the Glenwood Canyon a rugged scenic 12.5 mile canyon on I-70. The roaring Colorado River. The towering mountains. The remnants of the massive wildfire. Make sure to video this drive and make sure the sun is shining. This is just 1 of hundreds of Colorado scenic drives. Enjoy and don't forget to share pictures with your family!!!
