The City of Brownsville, TX - Municipal Government is hosting a free Sandbag Distribution on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. and until while supplies last.

Distribution Site:
Public Works Office Building C
6035 Jaime J. Zapata | Brownsville, TX

Requirements:
• Brownsville residents only
• Must bring ID and utility bill
• Limit of 6 sandbags per family
• Limit of 8 sandbags per commercial business
• Available while supplies last

Cameron County Partner Sites:
• Precinct 1 Warehouse, 2050 S. Browne Ave., Brownsville, TX
• Precinct 2 Warehouse, 7092 Old Alice Rd., Brownsville, TX

As part of the Ready Brownsville initiative, residents are encouraged to take steps now to protect their property and stay weather-aware.

Filming Scheduled in Downtown Brownsville

Brownsville residents and visitors are advised that a film production will be taking place in Downtown Brownsville which will require temporary street closures in the area.

Date: Sunday, June 7, 2026
Filming Time: 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Location: Downtown Brownsville

As part of the filming process, select streets in the downtown area will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic during production hours. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for additional travel time, and follow all posted detour signage.

We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as Brownsville continues to welcome film and television productions to our city. These projects help showcase our unique community while supporting local businesses and economic development.
