A huge THANK YOU to the “L” sisters for trusting me with their incredible Nordic adventure!

They had already selected and booked their cruise directly with Viking, but after reaching out to me, we were able to transfer the reservation to Krueger Travel Co. Now I can service their cruise and help bring the rest of the trip together, including flights, hotels before and after the sailing, transportation, excursions, tours and all the little details that turn a cruise reservation into a complete vacation. I was also able to gift them each $300 of OBC!

This is also proof that working with a travel advisor does not mean giving up control of your trip. You can still research, choose your own experiences and remain as involved as you want to be. Some clients want me to handle nearly every detail, while others enjoy taking the lead and want professional support behind them. Both approaches work!

This particular trip is SO cool. The sisters and their spouses will be sailing aboard the Viking Saturn on Viking’s eight-day Nordic Wonders itinerary from Bergen to Oslo. It's a great way to see some more remote places that would be difficult to travel to alone.

Their journey includes the dramatic scenery of Eidfjord, Norway’s maritime cities of Haugesund and Kristiansand, and two fascinating stops in Denmark: historic Aarhus and Skagen, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea meet. They will finish in Oslo after experiencing two countries, six guided tours and a beautiful mix of fjords, coastal landscapes, history and Scandinavian culture. I can't wait to see what else we add before and after the cruise portion!

While cruises are not the primary focus of my business, I am always happy to plan them when the itinerary, travel style and client are the right fit. This is exactly that kind of trip, and I cannot wait to help the “L” sisters plan everything that surrounds it.

1️⃣First: We can now book GUARANTEED connecting rooms! This is HUGE for larger families or groups! Many resorts (including this one, previously) only allow you to request connecting rooms. If this is a MUST (aka a family with only 2 adults and many young kids), this isn't an acceptable option. Instead of working on two proposals + edits / additions to LOTS of currently booked trips, I got to unexpectedly spend hours and $700 applying to trademark my business name 🙃

When I was searching for something else, I realized there was a newly-posted/published/announced Kruger Travel Co. Missing the "e," but still -- wayyy too close for my liking.

If you can't tell by now, I take my business and work incredibly seriously. I want to protect everything that I've worked so hard to build. And while this was on my "to-do" list, it wasn't on tonights list 😅 until it was.

Early in my career, I had the privilege of living and working just outside of NYC, right in NJ. When you stepped out of our apartment and looked to the right, you’d see the street hill lead down to a picture perfect view of exactly where the Twin Towers stood. Very similar to this photo I took from down the street in NJ.

Even though that view greeted me daily, it still sent chills down my spine and into my legs. I cannot imagine being there that day. The days after. What is sounded like. What it smelled like. What it felt like.

When family and friends came to visit and wanted to go into the city, we’d always take the train into the World Trade Center station and the 9/11 memorial was our first stop. If you haven’t been, I HIGHLY recommend making it a part of your next visit to the area. There is nothing like it. It’s so somber. And special. And sad.

Keeping all of those there that day (and all of us who watched in horror, many of us scared, young children) in my thoughts and prayers today.
