Happy New Year! I would like to wish everyone a very happy 2023. May it be a year of good health, prosperity, joy, peace and love.

It is with very mixed emotions that I am announcing the closing of Captains Club Cruises and Tours. This closing will take place over the next six months as I continue to take care of those of you who already have your vacations booked in the beginning of 2023. I’m also available for anyone looking to cruise before the end of June. Give me a call. I can help you with that too.

For more than 34 years I have had the enormous pleasure and privilege of assisting thousands of travelers as they venture out into the world aboard cruise ships, or with tour companies, visiting National Parks, exploring rain forests, or on safaris, from the Northern Lights to the southernmost tip of Africa, to six out of seven continents, from sea to shining sea.

Whether it was your first and only vacation with us, or you are one of our ‘frequent-flyer’ cruisers (you know who you are), I want to thank you for being a part of our Captains Club family over the years. I have enjoyed getting to know you all and I cherish the many friendships I have acquired.

Thank you for all the stories and pictures and the jokes and lunch! It has been an honor to laugh with you and celebrate with you, and also to cry and mourn with you. I can’t think of anything I would have rather spent all these years doing, or any bunch of people I would rather have met doing it. As for what’s next… I haven’t really thought that far ahead. I‘m not one to sit still so once I work my way through my wife’s extremely long ‘honey-do’ list I’ll be looking around.

This is a common Georgian dish originating from the Shkmeruli Village. The dish consists of chicken in a garlic butter sauce, but varies by region. The capital city of Tbilisi adds more dairy products to the dish, while other regions fry the chicken. It's delicious any way it's made!
