Yangon is a bustling city like Mumbai in India. The biggest attraction of this city is Shwedagon Pagoda which is a 99-meter-high gold-covered pagoda and stupa in Myanmar. It is located on Singutara hill to the west of Kandji Lake and is higher than the whole of Yangon city. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist monuments in this country. The gold stupa of this magnificent monument is studded with diamonds and various types of rubies. It is considered to be the most important and auspicious pagoda of Burma and contains some memorabilia of the last five Buddhas such as Kakusandha's stick, Konagaman's water sieve, a part of Kashyapa's robe, and eight strands of Gautam Buddha's hair. Due to the many large gardens in this city, it is also called the Garden City of the East. In Yangon, itself is the world famous Golden Pagoda.
