Restoration Part III…
One thing about restoring an old Chesapeake workboat—
not every step happens in perfect order.
Long before some of the structural rebuilding began, the pilothouse itself was already being carefully cut, reshaped, and reimagined.
Lines were adjusted.
Openings were recut.
Dimensions were refined to preserve the integrity of the original boat while preparing her for an entirely new purpose.
At the same time, reinforcement work continued throughout the hull and framing beneath it all.
Some parts of restoration look dramatic.
Some look slow and technical.
But every phase mattered.
Because bringing the Lois Ann into her next chapter meant balancing preservation with vision—honoring where she came from while thoughtfully preparing her for where she was headed next.
This is where the transformation truly started taking shape. ⚓️
