OFFICIAL DOG WARNING / NOTICE
Effective: January 6, 2026
The Camp Hill Police Department hereby issues the following warning to all residents and
property owners:
Warning Regarding Dogs Running at Large
All dog owners and residents are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure dogs are
properly confined and controlled at all times. Dogs running at large present serious safety risks,
including:
*Threats to public safety, such as biting or attacking people or other animals.
*Traffic hazards, which can result in accidents or injury.
*Disturbance of property or livestock, including damage to gardens, yards, or neighbor’s
property.
Notice:
If it is determined that your dog is running at large, you will be subject to immediate filing of
charges under Code 3-1-5: Dogs Running at Large. This ordinance empowers law enforcement
to take swift action to protect the community.
Residents are strongly urged to:
*Keep dogs securely on a leash or confined to your property at all times.
*Prevent dogs from roaming streets, public areas, or neighboring properties.
*Ensure dogs do not display aggressive or threatening behavior.
*Report aggressive, uncontrolled, or stray dogs to the Camp Hill Police Department at
[256-790-9020].
Compliance with this warning is required immediately. Residents failing to adhere to this
notice may face citations, fines, and/or impoundment of their pets as allowed under town
ordinances.
By following these rules, residents help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for
everyone, including children, neighbors, and pets.
