Say hello to Patrick Keyes, one of our newest TAP Guild Members and the friendly face of Rainbow Air Helicopter Tours in Niagara Falls, NY. 🚁

Patrick got his start in tourism thanks to a chance encounter with his local CVB back in 1994—and the rest, as they say, took flight. These days, he’s giving travelers a breathtaking new perspective on the Falls (literally!) with aerial tours from the U.S. side and a brand-new Niagara Virtual VR parasailing experience.

What does he love most about working with TAP? “The desire of the entire team to be helpful and supportive—you feel like you're really part of something, not just paying dues. And everyone is so darned nice!”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, and it's a pleasure to have Patrick as part of the TAP community!

P.S. When he’s not soaring above Niagara, you might catch him playing trumpet or singing from the Great American Songbook. 🎺

At TAP, we believe that collaboration and partnerships are essential for the growth and prosperity of every organization in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Simply put, we need each other.

Destinations don’t flourish without visitors. Tour operators don’t thrive without suppliers. And travel advisors are often the essential bridge connecting travelers to it all.

To grow group travel—a key segment of the travel industry and a linchpin of success for tourism destinations—we must work together. When destinations, attractions, and operators support travel advisors, everyone benefits.

If you’re looking to increase visibility, visitor traffic, and bookings through group travel, advisors are your secret weapon. From recent feedback in our community, we’ve heard consistently that advisors are eager to collaborate, motivated to grow, and asking for support. In this week's blog we dig into what’s working, what their challenges are, and how you can partner with them to grow group travel bookings and drive shared success.

What happens when you combine tourism professionals, media, and a famously haunted hotel?
✨ Connections. Collaboration. Maybe even a few chills.

We were thrilled to join MMGY and I LOVE NY this week for Haunted Media Night at the legendary Haunted Shanley Hotel. The night brought together industry partners and spooky storytellers for an after-hours investigation... because nothing says "connection" like sitting in the dark at midnight with some new friends.
From our early days supporting the Haunted History Trail of New York State to officially taking the reins last year, we’re thrilled to have such incredible partners helping to shine a light on the Trail!

Tune in to the latest episode of the Destination on the Left podcast hosted by Nicole Mahoney, where she reconnects with Mike Testa, President & CEO of Visit Sacramento.

In their conversation, Nicole and Mike discuss how Sacramento has reinvented itself from focusing solely on meetings and conventions to embracing festivals, sports, leisure, and a booming culinary scene. Find out more about how Sacramento’s bold Farm to Fork Capital branding not only brought the Michelin Guide to town but also landed a 10-year contract to host the Terra Madre Americas convention.
Mike shares his advice on building community partnerships, why “tourism is not about the tourists,” and how genuine collaboration can double a destination’s annual room nights. This episode is packed with actionable takeaways that can be useful for your destination too.

🐾 Happy from the TAP pack! Today we’re celebrating the four-legged friends who bring endless joy, belly laughs, and tail wags to our team. Just like us, they’re all about connection, community, and the occasional treat. 😉

Drop a photo of your furry travel buddy in the comments—we’d love to meet them!

When the Haunted History Trail of New York State launched in 2013, we were right there leading the marketing charge. Fast forward to last year, when we proudly took on ownership and administration of the Trail—and have been bridging the worlds of spirits and tourism ever since.

Last week, alongside MMGY Global and I LOVE NEW YORK, we took part in a Haunted Media Night featuring an after-hours investigation of The Haunted Shanley Hotel. Connections were made that night between our team, partners, media… and perhaps even a few from the “other side.”

Group travel in its most traditional sense – loading 50 seniors on a bus and carting them around for several days on a sightseeing tour with stops for dining and maybe a show – is slowly going away. It is being replaced by smaller, more active groups with varied interests seeking flexible travel options.

Through discussions with our TAP Tour Operator Partners in recent years, recognizable trends continue to emerge. Let’s take a look at the key themes in the evolution of group travel.

Last week, our Director of Strategic Partnerships, Sarah Imes, lived a dream come true by attending the highly anticipated immersive experience, Masquerade NYC, inspired by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record breaking musical, The Phantom of the Opera.

This limited-engagement event sold out in just three hours after tickets were released—and it’s easy to see why. Like stepping into a dream, guests were invited to dress in black, white, or silver and wear masquerade masks as they moved from room to room, completely immersed in the haunting and romantic story of the misunderstood Opera Ghost. Live actors interacted with attendees, blurring the lines between audience and performance.

"To call it one of the most beautiful shared theatrical experiences ever created would be an understatement." - Sarah Imes

Owned media is exactly what it sounds like — it’s yours. Your website, your email list, your blog — these are the channels where you have complete control over your message, your story, and your audience’s experience. No shifting algorithms, no rented space. Just a solid foundation you can build on, adapt, and grow over time. Your website, email, and blog are the owned media tactics that support every other channel in your plan. They create a home base that welcomes visitors in and keeps them coming back. Read more about these foundations in this week's blog: https://travelalliancepartnership.com/owned-media-foundations/
