Back in 2015, you could have bought a Walt Disney World monorail on eBay! 🚝

A collector listed the front cab of an original Mark IV monorail—the same type that transported millions of visitors through Walt Disney World in the ’70s and ’80s. The seller, Christopher Nowak, an artist and collector of “weird old vehicles,” had purchased it in 2014.

He put it on eBay for $260,000 with a starting bid of $169,000—but after a few days with no takers, he pulled the listing. Turns out, he wasn’t quite ready to part with this piece of Disney history. ✨

The auction listing pitched some wild ideas:
🛤 “Some people have train cars in their backyard… imagine your own monorail guest room, man cave, or kids’ clubhouse! Mount it on a bus chassis and drive it around!”

The monorail cab was available for viewing in Tampa, where Nowak had left it with a friend. The original Mark IV trains were retired in 1989 to make way for the next generation—but for a brief moment in 2015, you could have owned one yourself! 🏰✨
