Carousel of Progress has always held a special place in our family's Disney trips—especially for Katie. ❤️
On our last Magic Kingdom night this summer, there was one thing we knew we had to do: ride Carousel of Progress one more time before it closed for its reimagining.
And that last ride ended up being so much more special than we expected.
We're used to walking right in with little to no wait, but that night there was a long line of people waiting for one last ride. You could feel the nostalgia before we even walked through the doors.
And once the show started, it got even better.
People sang along to There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and clapped through every scene. Everyone seemed to know they were experiencing this classic version together for one of the last times.
I'll admit, a few of us got a little teary. ❤️
With the announcements from D23 this past weekend, we're starting to learn more about what the next chapter of Carousel of Progress will look like. And while we're excited to see what's ahead, we're also a little nervous. We love this attraction for exactly what it is—the nostalgia, the history and that classic Disney feeling.
I'm very happy that There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow will remain, because I can't imagine Carousel of Progress without it. ✨
We'll definitely be there to experience the reimagined version when it reopens. But I'm so grateful that we made time for one last ride around the turntable with the version our family knows and loves.
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow... but we'll always have a soft spot for yesterday. ❤️
Are you excited for the changes to Carousel of Progress, or are you going to miss the classic version too?
