Hi Friends,

It’s been a while. I hope everyone is doing well. As I get back on the Tour and continue where we left off in Connecticut, I wanted to let everyone know where I disappeared to.

Over the last few months, I stepped away from content creation for a mental and creative reset while dealing with the endless cold and trying to balance website articles, social media, and building a visual library on YouTube. Somewhere along the way, I hit burnout and what I call the “What’s Next Syndrome.”

What destination is next? What trip works best? What season should I plan for? Before I knew it, I was writing scripts for destinations through 2032. (I’m a big writer and tend to go off the rails sometimes.)

During the downtime, I picked up my camera and returned to unfinished photography projects. For the past 20 years, since picking up my first DSLR, I’ve photographed monuments and statues tied to America’s history while also documenting the fascinating Anthracite Coal history of my own region.

I’ve decided to turn both projects into coffee table books. The stories and photographs are already there now it’s about putting on the finishing touches and bringing them to life.

As I jump back into the Tour, I’m excited to continue exploring the coastal cities of Connecticut before our big summer adventure in the Adirondacks.

I'll be seeing everyone soon!

Have you ever visited Hartford—the capital city of Connecticut and one of the pioneering areas of New England?

Hartford once held the title of America’s most innovative city. From the birth of modern manufacturing to its influence on American English, education, and literacy, the city reads like a living textbook, with contributions that helped shape a growing nation.

From its beautiful Capitol building to its museums, shops, and restaurants, this underrated gem is one of the first stops I recommend when exploring New England.

Begin your adventure here as we explore the Constitution State. I'll see you On Tour!

After five years of exploring the most popular destinations of the Mid-Atlantic, I’m excited to present the next journey of the Tour: New England.

This is the perfect time to incorporate Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine into our travel series. One of the oldest regions in America, New England is filled with stunning scenery, riveting history, and fascinating architecture. An ideal extension of our Mid-Atlantic travels.

As we move into the next phase of the Tour, I’m also excited to explore lesser-known areas of the Mid-Atlantic. Places like the Adirondacks, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island New York; Western Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Wilds; the inland counties of Delaware and Maryland; the beaches and southern counties of New Jersey; and the unique neighborhoods of Washington, D.C.

I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on for the next chapter of our journey.

I’ll see you on tour!

Every year, my family and I make it a tradition to visit some of the most popular Christmas tree lighting's across the larger Mid-Atlantic and New England cities. The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is always our first stop. It’s the moment when the holiday season truly feels like it’s begun.

Today is the day the tree will be lit up, marking the official start of the holidays. In the tradition of not skipping visits, I happened to make my way to New York City during one of the biggest winter storms in the past 25 years. Almost nothing was visible throughout the city, I still pushed my way through to the top of Rockefeller Center.

If you've never been, I definitely recommend making a trip. Make sure it's early in the morning as the crowds get immense during the later hours!

Balloons Over Letchworth – A New York Experience Like No Other!

Have you ever watched dozens of colorful hot-air balloons rise over a canyon at sunrise? That’s the magic of Letchworth State Park, often called the “Grand Canyon of the East.”

Every year, the park becomes the launchpad for Balloons Over Letchworth, a breathtaking hot-air balloon experience that takes you soaring above the Middle Falls, the 17-mile Genesee River Gorge, and some of the most dramatic scenery in New York State.

Running from May through November, this hour-long flight is one of the most unforgettable adventures in Western New York. Even without the balloons, Letchworth is a wonder of its own.

14,000 acres of forests, towering cliffs, three major waterfalls, and a rich natural history that makes it one of New York’s greatest treasures.

If you’ve been to Letchworth or dream of visiting, share your favorite memory below!

Brooklyn is one of my favorite boroughs to explore during autumn. New York City often carries the stigma of being a “concrete jungle,” but the beauty of Brooklyn lies in its nature and architecture. It’s one of the greenest boroughs with neighborhoods that are lined with sprawling rows of trees. Brooklyn also contains some of New York's most fascinating outdoor escapes like the beautiful parks like Prospect Park. Adding to that charm are the stunning row homes and brownstones that give it a true storybook look.

What's your favorite season to explore?

Spanning the East River between Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, the Williamsburg Bridge stands as one of New York City’s most iconic crossings.

When it first connected Williamsburg to Manhattan, it transformed the city’s landscape — opening the door for Manhattan residents to migrate to Brooklyn and sparking a cultural shift that would redefine the neighborhood.

From its industrial roots to its rise as one of NYC’s most vibrant and creative communities, the Williamsburg Bridge remains a powerful symbol of connection, change, and New York spirit.

Step back in time to experience one of America’s earliest and most iconic roller coasters — The Coney Island Cyclone.

Built in 1927, this wooden masterpiece has thrilled generations with its heart-racing drops, sharp turns, and nostalgic charm. Once hailed as one of the steepest coasters in the world, it remains a living symbol of New York’s golden age of amusement.

Nearly a century later, The Cyclone still roars proudly along the Coney Island boardwalk — a must-visit piece of Brooklyn history and timeless American fun.

This summer I decided to pull out my 1978 Canon film camera and give a nostalgic appeal to Coney Island, Brooklyn. Film photography was one of my first jobs and I worked at Kmart's photo center. Something about film add's such a unique perspective to this iconic beach!

Ever been to Coney Island? Have I got a tour for you!

Coney Island is a remarkable neighborhood at the Southern tip of Brooklyn that was considered the original Disney World. Coney Island contains some of New York's most popular beaches, a thriving boardwalk, and miles of amusement fun.

The Brooklyn Peninsula pioneered Amusement Park and was the first to create the concept of theme parks. The beach town also gave life to Sideshows, one of a kind attractions, and some of America's tastiest foods.

If you've never visited Coney Island now is the best time to plan it for your next summer escape.
