Beach Rose RV Annual Lobster Celebration was today. Always a fun time and this year we were joined by Family from North Carolina as they were passing thru from their Nova Scotia, Canada camping adventure. So nice spending the day with Joanne’s brother Steve and his wife Debbie. We started the day at Newburyport’s Annual Yankee Homecoming and then of course New England Lobsters….

Nice weekend visiting my sister in Beacon, NY. Pat always is the “Best Host”. We spent Friday at the new spectacular “Mirbeau Spa” Wow! (This is located at what we knew while growing up many years ago in town as the “Craig House Property”. ) We definitely enjoyed the Spa, and then hiking their trails along the Fishkill Creek. Saturday night we walked to the Beacon Theatre to see Epic movie “The Odyssey” and then each night caught up on some family time with cards and Monopoly DEAL … A relaxing weekend though Pat & Joanne beat me up pretty well at the cards 🤪🤪🤪.

46 years ago on July 12, 1980 I was blessed in so many ways when this woman said yes to be my wife and we decided to commit to spend our life together. We were just 2 kids, fresh out of college, looking to start a life together. I am so fortunate to have Joanne as my best friend and life partner. I asked her today what she wanted to do and she said let’s ride our bikes on the Salisbury Rail Trail to Newburyport. We aren’t fancy people and this was the perfect suggestion. Getting to spend the day together like so many over the last 46 years … The bike ride included crossing the Merrimack River, Newbury’s waterfront & downtown and some New England Sunshine. Celebrating our 46th anniversary our way …. (Yes that 2nd picture is from 1980🫢😳🤪)

First “Beach Bike Ride” of the summer today. (Yes we still use pedal bikes 🤪😊). - We have to get creative with our current setup to carry the beach chairs & umbrella. It works well though probably should consider a buggy/carrier someday. Sunshine, Ocean Breezes & waves, Salt Air, the sounds of the gulls above, and plenty of sandy beach…

Happy 4th of July 2026 to all our friends and family. Every country has its own challenges and America is no exception. Regardless, celebrating its 250th birthday, the USA 🇺🇸 is still a very special place and we are thankful for the freedom, opportunities, and liberties she was founded on and ultimately still stands for!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Our final port on our 2026 European adventure today was South Queensferry/Edinburgh, Scotland. After spending the last month exploring countries of “The Baltics & then “Scandinavia” we are now back to Europe. Having been to Edinburgh a few other times we decided to just explore the port city of South Queensferry. Of course great views of the Unesco World Heritage site known as “Forth Bridge”. Opened in 1890 as a railway bridge across the Firth of Forth it was placed on UNESCO’s list in 2015….

Our first tender port of this trip and when we returned the weather changed abruptly with thick cloud cover, wind, and more aggressive seas. Nonetheless a laid back day to finish this incredible 2026 adventure ….

We decided to take in a few of the areas downtown sites on a round trip walk from the pier for our last hike in Norway and it seemed fitting it poured rain on us which is pretty common this time of the year here….

The biggest surprise of the day was bumping into some “Snowbird friends” from Kelowna, BC whom have been winter neighbors for years at DSRV RESORT. We had no idea they were on the cruise… (It is truly a “small world”)

Cheers & One final toast from the magical country of Norway!🇳🇴

The North Cape is literally at “The Top of The World” , on the Arctic Ocean, with a latitude of 71° 10′ 21” N… We have only been near this latitude once before, which was in 2019, when we drove through the Canadian Northwest Territories and camped near Tuktoyaktuk at (69.45° N).

Our day consisted of visiting a Sámi village, who are the indigenous people that raise reindeer. A few scenic vistas, and then the North Cape.

Plenty of wind, rolling fog, and certainly cold weather here though nonetheless we still managed some good pics.

✅✅✅Checking off another bucket list item visiting the “North Cape” of Norway!✅✅✅
