Royal Caribbean Cruise Fall Break 2025, Adventures of the Seas.

The Good the Bad and the we can't wait to go back!

The boat itself is 25 years old so the rooms are a little dated, but we spent very little time in the rooms so that wasn't a big deal to us. The food was great, the Promenade pizza was visited numerous times a day. The donuts and cinnamon rolls were surprisingly delicious. The evening meals in the dining room were so fun we had a beautiful view of the ocean and the sweetest people serving us. The drink package.... totally worth it, but buy before you go! The drink soda package goes on sale numerous times before you go, we only paid $8.99 a day and it was unlimited. If we had waited to buy it was $16.99 and they would not give any discounts. They have soda machines and give you a special cup you can use, also you could get a drink at any bar. The package for sodas and specialty non alcoholic drinks was also great and people that got that thought it was totally worth it. Most importantly, they had Foxsports on the room TVs so we were able to watch BYU beat Utah.

The entertainment at night was hit and miss. The people they brought in were fantastic, the actual people they have on staff didn't blow us away. The ice skating show was great and the kids even went ice skating on the day we had a sea day and loved it. Obviously, it is geared to an older demographic with who they bring in for example one night we had one of the original "Letterman" perform. A tribute band to the four seasons performed one night. Then a juggler comedian who was hilarious. (these were our favorite)

We enjoyed the hot tubs (especially at night watching football or a movie), sauna, sitting by the pool, playing cards, looking for ducks, playing basketball, pickleball, flowrider, rock climbing, miniature golf, sushi making classes, trivia games go on all the time, and simply relaxing

St. Croix … was our first stop and it was our least favorite.

We wanted to see the other side of the island because they told us there was good shopping, and a beach. Well, it was the expensive shopping district and the beach you have to take another boat to. It cost us $30 a person to get there in a van which is $240 when you have 8 people. Our driver was great and he came and picked us up when we called him. So we lasted about an hour and then ended up at Rainbow Beach which only costs $5 to get to from the boat, because it is right by the boat and it was a much better beach. So we learned and had a great afternoon floating in the ocean.

My Mom, Sister, Aunt and Uncle did an excursion around the island, they paid $114 each and thought it was a total waste. There is just not that much to see in St. Criox but, the beach is gorgeous so my suggestion is enjoy the close beach and save your money for other fun things

St Thomas, Virgin Island

St. Thomas has a little shopping center right when you get off, that has fun little things and we went around and collected our free charms at the jewelry shops. At the end all the transportation is there. The US Government has come in and controls what they charge so we don't get taken advantage of at least that is what we were told.

We went to the greatest beach called Brewers Beach. It isn't far, maybe a 10-15 min drive in an open air truck. We snorkeled all day! We saw sea turtles, stingrays and little fish. It cost $8. each way which was great and the driver gave us her number which is free to call because you are in America. She came and got us when we were done. This is a local beach so not many people were there. This also means no lawn chairs so if you decide to go here bring the towels you can borrow from the boat you will need them for sitting. Grab some water bottles and drinks from the store right there by where you catch the taxis etc. Maybe, even grab some snacks from the boat so you can spend more time.

San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

This stop by far had the best shopping!!! Right as you get off there are all kinds of artisans selling homemade souvenirs to the left. We had a great time shopping then they have all the cheap stores for souvenir sweatshirts and other normal stuff. You don't need to pay for any transportation unless you want a bigger tour of the island, which my Mom and Aunt and Uncle did and they loved the tour and it was only like $30 and they kept talking about the cemetery so if that is your thing take the tour. They have excursions to the Rain Forrest but our boat was only there until 2 and there was plenty to see and do and I don't think there was enough time (so check if it works for you if that is something you want to see).

We also went to Barrachina, the place of the first Pina Colada! The Pina Colada was pretty good, too much Pina for me. I like more coconut but we met the "lovable as***le" bartender so it was worth it. Also, do not expect chips and salsa this is Puerto Rico not Mexico he informed us so they have Puerto Rican food. Tons of cute shops where people were painting things to sell all along the walk.

The San Juan Fort that protected the island from 1525-1787 is within walkable distance. Maybe, a mile but you can see it to the right as you get off the ship. It was fun to see and very historic. We went on a day that was free. The usual charge is $10 a person but is covered under the America the Beautiful annual park pass so make sure to throw your pass in your bag just in case.

The colors of Puerto Rico are so fun. All the fun colored homes which I learned from my kids piano teacher relate to which political party you belong to, so you have to be careful which colored home you buy if you work for the FBI. I loved walking the cobbled stone streets and just seeing the sites.

The Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's, Private Island.

When we pulled up and saw the Icon docked next to us I honestly thought dang, it is going to be so crowded we won’t be able to do anything today… I was totally wrong. The Island had enough amenities that it didn’t matter. It is hilarious to see the boats docked next to each other, it made Adventures of the Sea look tiny.

The name says it all! It was the Perfect Day! It was a little windy the day we were there. A lady I met said to just head to the other side of the island. They have trams taking you back and forth so it made it easy for the older people to get to anywhere they wanted. We started at CoCo Beach and it was beautiful. Royal takes care of everything, plenty of lounge chairs, food and bars in every section and it was delicious. We thought CoCoCay may have the best food of the trip. So the one side is all different beaches. Private beaches for adults if you want that, beaches with cabanas, a beach with Tahiti type villas you can rent for a crazy lot of money. Then there is a huge pool that takes up most of the interior of the island. It is amazing! Also, a lagoon where a lot of people hung out the entire day and didn’t leave, it was perfect for their kids so they stayed right there.

My 5 kids saw the Thrill Water Park and decided that is where they wanted to spend the entire day. We purchased the tickets early when it was on sale so watch for that. The cost is $125 and I think we paid $75 per person. It was totally worth it! They have the tallest water slide in the Caribbean and had the tallest slide in the world until some place in Oregon recently added a foot to their new slide to take over for tallest. Gabby said Jacob was floating in the wave pool and said, “I am completely happy right now.” My kids favorite slide was the one where the bottom falls out from under you, I have anxiety even thinking about that. They said the lines were fine and they would do it again in a second. It was definitely their favorite stop!

Getting to Orlando: We gave every airline business. Some took the red eye with Breeze, Some did Southwest, and Delta all of these were great and had direct flights. We went with United because we had points. It was fine except we did not get to fly directly and it took us the entire day to get there and back because we stopped in Houston for layovers. So definitely if you have a choice try and go non-stop. Jacob and Blake got bumped on Delta so they each got $500 in a visa gift card. We also got the watch the BYU Iowa game on the plane so that helped with the fact it took our entire day to get home! 🏠
