That's what workers earned in 1845 to dig what would eventually become the beautiful Grand Lake St. Marys we know today.
When we purchased one of our properties, a handful of old postcards were left behind. These snapshots from another era offer a glimpse into the stories, memories, and generations that enjoyed Grand Lake long before us. There's something special about holding a piece of history in your hands and imagining the people who helped create this remarkable place.
Our love for local history runs deep, and these postcards inspired us to learn even more about the fascinating story of Grand Lake... from its beginnings as a hand-dug canal reservoir to the lake destination it is today.
