Shawn and Sarah wanted to get out on Lake Decatur and catch some fish for a fish fry when the get to the Royals game in Cincinnati.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

We fished 7-10fow lookin for shad balls. The fish were under them waiting to strike. You can see them chasing the shad around and all you have to do is get ur minnow in around and they will come get it.

This will be my pattern for the next few months. Sure things will change as the summer goes along but not much.

Mrs Sarah wanted to catch a biggin and boy did she. She had several broken PB's in one day and the biggest went 14" and 1.37lb. Congrats girl.

HERE'S A LITTLE TIP.

The crappie are biting but they are biting softly. Here is what im saying. If you get those fish to the surface and they come "UNBUTTONED" thats something that happens this time of year. Not all the time but sometimes. Everybody has experienced it. So what I've been doin to help our success rate is I have had the net ready at all times. I've been netting every fish my clients catch. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL THING ON MY BOAT. WE BOAT FLIP EVERYTHING. I have put The Crappie Monster Outlaw Net to work the last few weeks.

What a mornin with Deanna Zehr and Allen.

These folks here help others is so many ways. They won the auction at the Wishes on Wheels benefit last August and our schedules finally lined up.

They morning was one of the best we have had for big post spawn fish. Deanna broke her pb several times and ended the day with an absolute tank for this time of year.

She had a 15⅛" 1.41lb skinny black crappie.

ALL BIG FISH WERE RELEASED

We fished 7-10fow looking for fish that were chasing shad balls. That has been the ticket for the past couple of weeks or so. The fish are feeding very aggressively and if you get that minnow within a couple feet they are coming and gettin it.

We put the 14' Outlaw Crappie Poles PRO SE and 40lb K9 Fishing Products braid to work this mornin.

Tony and Carter wanted to get out and see what FFS was all about.

We fished 7-10fow lookin for fish chasing shad balls. Man was today fun. Once you found the fish they would eat with no problem.

We put the 14' Outlaw Crappie Poles PRO SE and 40lb K9 Fishing Products braid to work this mornin.
All paired up with a minnow rig.

Bubs Daddy Store kept our minnows alive all day. If u don't have one of his Aerators u are missing out.

Big fish of the day was 14" 1.26lb Black

What a day Randy and Brian had changing things up and shootin some docks.

We started on the deeper docks and the fish were not there. Went and found them in the back of the coves in shallow water under the docks in the shade. Key to fishing docks is SHADE.

Every lake is different and the fish are spawing on Mattoon. They were very aggresive and couldn't handle anything in their beds.

We had the 6' 8" one piece 24 ton carbon Outlaw Crappie Poles spooled up with 6lb K9 Fishing Products flouro. Man this setup is awesome for shootin docks.

Of course we put the new Crappie Monster "GHOST SERIES" to work. We used "YELLOW JACKET" "ELECTRIC CHICKEN" and "JOKER". Man these baits are tough. We caught over 100 fish and only had to change baits twice. If you need some of these baits you can get them from Hunters Haven, Chip's Marine or myself. The Marina at Mattoon will have them in the next week or so.

I HAVE VERY FEW DAYS OPEN FOR BLUEGILL.

FALL CRAPPIE AVAILABILITY IS FILLING FAST AS I AM BOOKING INTO LATE SEPTEMBER INTO OCTOBER.

John, Steve and Rico wanted to get out and see what FFS was all about. Mission accomplished.

I figured the fish would be in the same spot as yesterday but that was not the case. We found them in a whole new spot at the opposite end of the lake than we fished yesterday.

We did find them in the same 7-10fow chasing bait balls. Today we had a FEW more females that still had eggs. (MAYBE 5 OUT OF THE 30 WE CLEANED). IMO the spawn is winding down and the fish are starting to move to their summer spots. We may have a few stragglers still up shallow spawning and with the crazy weather that doesn't surprise me. For the most part the fish we have been catching are skinny and hungry.

Today the 14' Outlaw Crappie Poles PRO SE was spooled with 40lb K9 Fishing Products braid with a minnow rig.

It's minnow season is upon us. If your in the need for minnows check out Hunters Haven as they have a huge tank and they have plenty of bait.

I run Bubs Daddy Store aerators. If your in the market for an aerator that's quiet and runs for multiple days before you have to charge go check them out.

Tim Foster and his SIL Grant had a morning that was pretty special.

We started out shallow lookin for fish that may still be spawning. We found a few that were shallow but not what we were lookin for.

As always the 14' Outlaw Crappie Poles PRO SE was spooled up with 40lb K9 Fishing Products braid.

Today they wanted a minnow. Its that time of year the fish are putting on their feed bags and wanting some meat.

If your in the need for some minnows Hunters Haven as them in stock at all times.

We fished 7-10fow looking for shad balls as the bigger fish were out feeding after a prolonged spawn do to the weather. We caught very few fish that still had eggs.

Mr Tim put a post spawn stud for this time of year in the boat. He caught a 15¾" long 1.57lbs skinny black crappie.

BLUEGILL DATES ARE FILLIN UP FAST. IVE ADDED A FEW MORE DATES AND THESE ARE ALL THE DATES I HAVE LEFT. IT IS A GREAT TRIP TO TAKE THE KIDS OUT FOR SOME FAST ACTION DURING SUMMER BREAK.

Had Rick out on Lake Decatur today to target some biggins.

We started out shallow and that didn't pan out. We fished 7-10fow lookin for fish chasing shad balls. The water is still muddy and has some current. Alot of the fish were sittin on the bottom ready to ambush a bait when it came by.

We had the 14' Outlaw Crappie Poles PRO SE lined up with 40lb K9 Fishing Products braid.

Bait of choice today was the Hard Water Jigs in "BABY PHAT".

Rick's big fish today were 14⅛" 1.48lb black and a 13¾" 1.37lb white. The bigger fish we caught today were skinny and looked like they have spawned

Today was a catch and release kinda of day. Rick released every fish he caught after a few photos.

Another great turnout for this years HOI Crappie Club Shelbyville Extravaganza tournament. 62 boats showed up to compete and that they did. The weights at the top were really close. We ended up 2nd place overall. The only piece to the puzzle we were missing was a good kicker fish. Quality club sponsors donated some nice items for the raffles today. They even had some kids only raffles and prizes. Great seeing everyone.

Thank you Chad Anderson Kristen Anderson and the whole board for your hard work. It sure made a big tournament easy to attend. You guys are awesome.

What a mornin Diane Lewis and I had this mornin on the Ville. She goes with me alot and we always plan it for this weekend so she can enjoy the weigh in festivities that is to come on Saturday. She is a damn good fisher woman and needs little instructions. We made quick work of a 2 man limit and back to the ramp to clean fish.

After we got done Gregory Blaine Kaiser met me at the ramp and jumped on the boat so we could go find some fish for the HOI Crappie Club Extravaganza tomorrow.

Thanks girl for a great mornin see ya tomorrow.
