I’m heading to Orlando for convention this week, and I’m going with a very real understanding of what this season looks like for me.

I’m watching every dollar. I’m rewearing clothes I already own. I’m making practical decisions.

And I’m still going.

Because after more than 30 years as an entrepreneur, I know that building does not always happen when everything is comfortable.

Sometimes it looks like being resourceful.

Sometimes it looks like discipline.

Sometimes it means continuing to invest in your growth while being very intentional about how you use what you have.

That is part of the conversation behind Be Well — helping women continue to build, reinvent, create income, and create more options for their lives.

If you looked at my photos from this weekend, you might never know how much was going through my head.

You would see me smiling.

You would see community.

You would see business happening.

You would see me spending time with some wonderful women.

And all of that was real.

So was everything I was carrying.

Business.

Money.

Health.

Responsibilities.

Things I need to get done.

Things I know I should be doing.

I’ve been an entrepreneur for more than 30 years, and I continue to learn that experience doesn’t make us immune to difficult seasons.

You can know how to lead and still feel overwhelmed.

You can believe deeply in your vision and still have moments when the numbers scare you.

You can be grateful for what’s happening in your life and still be figuring some things out.

𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲.

And somewhere in the middle of everything this weekend, I realized:

𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲.

Relationships have always been at the heart of how I do business.

Real conversations.
Listening.
Connecting the dots.
Sharing resources.
Making introductions.
Creating opportunities.

That’s also the kind of community I want us to continue building through Be Well.

Yesterday was a DAY. 🙏🏽⭐️

My Sister in Success Jacquelyn DeLane officially became a One-Star Director with PlanNet Marketing!

Jackie partnered with me in March 2017—before I had systems, before I had years of experience, and definitely before I had everything figured out.

And that’s part of the lesson.

Longevity matters. Consistency matters. Relationships matter. And doing the WORK matters.

Jackie ran her own race. She stayed committed. She kept the main thing the main thing. And she and her team kept building.

You don’t need everybody.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You need the right people, the right relationships and the willingness to stay in the game long enough to grow.

Congratulations, Sis. ❤️

We’re just getting started.

There is a version of me from twenty five years ago, living in a five bedroom house, who would not believe I could be this content in 600 square feet.

But here I am. Grateful for online church, a FaceTime call with my sister, a picture I finally hung in the bathroom, and peace that honestly surpasses understanding.

And still, I want more. Not because today is not enough, but because I believe we get to be grateful and still dream.

We are so proud to spotlight Nadine this week.

Nadine has embraced Be Well as Second Wind's sister community, a home for women 50 and up who are still designing beautiful lives for themselves, in travel, in business, and in every season that comes next.

In our Q3 issue, Adventure Awaits, Nadine wrote something we needed to hear. Her article, Dreams Without Deadlines, speaks directly to the lie so many women are told, that we are dreaming too big or that we are too old to dream at all. Nadine says it plainly.

"Women my age (60+) inevitably fall into the trap of believing they are dreaming too big or are too old to dream."

Not in this community. Not here.

I recently moved into my own apartment after years of sharing space with my adult daughters in Arizona and, more recently, relocating to Georgia and sharing a home with my friend and business partner, Betty Brown.

This week while unpacking boxes and settling into my new home, I found myself reflecting on something my pastor shared. He talked about being a bridge, how God often uses ordinary people to help someone safely cross from one season of life into the next.

That is exactly what Betty and her family were for me. A safe place to heal, to regroup, to dream again, and to prepare for what's next.

They never made me feel like a guest. They made me feel like family.

What started as a business relationship became a friendship, and that friendship became family. Experiences like this remind me why I believe so deeply in building communities where women genuinely support one another.

To Betty and her family, thank you for opening your hearts and your home to me. I will never forget your kindness.

𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

I’m not exactly where I thought I’d be when I wrote my January 2026 goals. There are still things I’m reaching for. But when I look around at the community I’ve been building for years, I don’t see failure. I see progress. I see people growing. I see lives expanding.

This week I watched Erica board a plane to meet her business partner. We celebrated two years in business with Denisha. We’re so proud of Wendy for turning the memory of her mom’s first cruise into something beautiful—a Thanksgiving cruise built around gratitude and family. And I became emotional and so proud of Mr. Chandler. After decades in transportation, he chose to reinvent himself and build something brand new in the leisure travel space.

None of the people I mentioned had to give up who they were in their professional careers. They just added something new, and so did I.
