Quick tip for anyone booking Italy travel this year:
Don't pick your hotel by star rating. Pick it by neighborhood.
We've booked 7 Italy trips in the last 6 months (cruises + land tours), and the #1 mistake I see people almost make: beautiful 5-star hotel in a terrible location.
Example: A hotel near Rome Termini might look great on paper. But Termini is loud, chaotic, and not where you want to spend your evenings.
Better move: Trastevere or near Piazza Navona (my favorite). Quieter. More authentic. Walking distance to everything that matters.
Same logic for Venice, Florence, and Naples.
Location > Amenities, every single time.
If you're planning Italy or anywhere, and want help thinking through where to actually stay (not just where looks nice in photos), I'm happy to help. Just send me a message.
