🎃👻 The Halloween Special Editions begin...
A week ago today, I was sitting inside the historic Strand Theatre in Marietta for the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy.
I went because, well... Edgar Allan Poe in a beautiful old theater was pretty hard for me to resist. But while I was there, I found myself wondering about the Strand itself.
An old theater. Nearly a century of history. Darkened balconies, backstage corridors, dressing rooms, a stage that has seen generations come and go...
Surely there were stories.
There were. 👻
The Strand has collected its own ghostly lore over the years, including Bev, a mysterious presence associated with the balcony, and Rik, a young spirit said to linger backstage. There is also one particularly strange account involving a missing wallet and an unexpected helping hand from someone who may not have been entirely... present.
And then there is the ghost light. 🕯️
So, exactly one week after I sat inside the Strand listening to tales from Edgar Allan Poe, I’m returning to the theater in a slightly different way.
This time, I’m looking for its ghosts.
🎭 The Haunted Strand Theatre: Ghosts Behind the Curtain
This is the first of several Halloween Special Editions I’ll be sharing throughout October on The Oracle of the Green Sight. I have some wonderfully eerie places, literary ghosts, strange histories and genuine paranormal traditions waiting for us this month.
But our first stop is Marietta.
Come behind the curtain with me. 🕯️👻
