✈️ TRAVEL AGENT ETIQUETTE: THINGS WE WISH YOU KNEW 😂 ✈️
We LOVE our clients. We LOVE travel. And we genuinely LOVE helping you plan amazing vacations. ❤️
But after doing this for a while, there are a few things we wish everyone knew…
🚫 1. Don’t ask us to spend hours creating a quote…then book it yourself.
This is the ultimate travel advisor sin. 😂
We research flights, resorts, room categories, dates, locations, pricing and all the little details to find the right trip for you. Our compensation generally comes from the booking — so when you take all that research and book it somewhere else, we essentially worked for free.
🚫 2. Don’t take our advertised deal and book it yourself.
If you see a vacation deal on our page that you love, send us a message!
Those posts are designed to generate business for Saltedmom Travel — not provide free research so you can go book it elsewhere. 😉
🚫 3. Don’t ask us how to find the exact same deal online.
“Where did you find that?”
“What website?”
“What dates?”
“What room?”
…and then disappearing to book it yourself. 😬
Please don’t turn your travel advisor into your unpaid travel-shopping assistant.
🚫 4. Don’t ask us to beat a price after you’ve already booked somewhere else.
Give us the opportunity to work with you before you book.
🚫 5. Don’t expect us to publicly bash a resort or supplier.
We believe in professionalism and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
But don’t mistake that for not knowing the truth.
We actually visit resorts, sail on cruise ships, tour hotels, inspect rooms and experience destinations firsthand.
And when you’re a Saltedmom Travel client, we’ll give you the real inside scoop — what we love, what we don’t, which rooms we’d choose, what might not be worth the money and what you should know before you book.
We may not publicly bash a supplier, but we WILL be honest with our clients. ❤️
🚫 6. And please don’t ghost us after we’ve done all the research.
If you decide not to book, that’s okay! Just tell us.
“Thank you, we decided to go another direction” is perfectly acceptable.
👀 7. And one more thing…yes, there are MLM travel companies out there.
Saltedmom Travel is NOT one of them.
Saltedmom Travel is a legitimate, woman-owned travel business created by Molly in 2022. We are a real travel agency, working with real travel suppliers and real clients.
If we were an MLM, we’d be trying to recruit YOU to work for us. 😂
We’re not.
We’re here to plan and book your travel. ✈️🌎

Our time, expertise, research, firsthand experience, supplier relationships and industry knowledge have value.
If you want to DIY your vacation, that’s completely okay!
But if you want the expertise of a travel professional, let your travel professional actually book the trip.
